Ann's POV

I was rather surprised than worried to see these bruises on my shoulder. I felt really concerned as to how did I get these bruises on me? Did I hurt myself somehow? I wondered while examining the hurt area. Maybe because of this heavy bag I carry to school every day. I thought.

"Are you done yet?" I heard my sister calling.

"Yeah," I said ignoring it, as I wore my uniform and went downstairs.

"I am done! " I said as I was coming down the stairs. "Great! I am done too! " She said walking behind me. We both smiled at each other.

We had our breakfast. It was knorr sweet corn soup and sandwiches. "Dear sister! This is damn tasty!" I said sarcastically with my mouth stuffed with sandwiches which made her laugh at me. "Why are you laughing?" I asked gulping down my food. "You looked so funny with your mouth full of food," she said laughing between her words. I gave her a cold look and started laughing too. Completing our breakfast, we went out to our car and drove off to my school. I waved at her when I got down of my car and went straight inside my school premises.

"Hey!" I heard a very familiar voice from behind and I could very well recognize it was Siddharth's. As I turned around, I found him along with my new friends waving at me. I waved back at them and joined them. Together we all went to our classroom discussing about our classes today. Siddharth came and sat next to me, his lips curved into a bright smile which made me blush a little.

"Hey, Ann! Homework done?" he asked.

"Yup" I replied with a smile.

Classes were going on as usual. Boring. Physics, then we had maths then biology and so on.

The last bell rang at 3:30 p.m. which meant school was over for the day. We all jumped out of our school premises. But unfortunately, I missed my bus to Career Hub today. To be honest, when you have to choose between classes and golgappa, it's definitely the latter that wins.

Now, what to do? I will be late today. I thought and checked my phone to see the time.

Shit! Sir will definitely kill me!

"Hey! Want a lift?" I heard Siddharth calling from behind.

"O...Of course. Thanks a lot, Sid" I was so happy that I felt like hugging him but I controlled myself. He saved me today.

"Come on now don't tell me thanks. What are friends for!" He smiled.

"Now, hop in!"

"Yeah sure." I smiled back.

I sat in the backseat of the car while he was in the front. There was a man in his mid-30s sitting behind the wheels, he was quite tall and rather quiet. There was a scar across his left eye which gave him a rugged look. His beard was unshaved and his dark black eyes looked a little dull.

"Ann meet Rahul," Siddharth spoke introducing me to the man behind the wheels. "He is my chauffeur!"

"Hello!" I smiled at him.

"This is Anwesha, my friend!" Siddharth spoke to which he smiled back at me.

"So, what's your favorite song?" He asked, breaking the silence as we all drove on. " umm... I got many...!"

"OK! Then tell me any song you want to listen to now!"

"OK...then, can you play Enchanted by Taylor Swift?"

"Sure! He said and plugged in his phone "Now this is kind of a little old song but I love it" He said with his usual cute smile.

"So do I!" I replied with a smile.
