Siddhartha's POV

I don't know what happened but Ann looks really worried. Even though she was smiling and talking with all of us but I could sense something was bothering her. I called her last night but she didn't receive any of the calls neither she replied to my texts. Am I bothering her too much? I wondered as I looked over at her. Well, she could be busy since her cousin sister came but her frowned eyebrows tell otherwise.

Ann was sitting next to me but she was looking outside the window of the bus. I could sense something was wrong and she was completely engrossed in her thoughts. I hope you would have told me what was making you this worried. I want to help you. I miss your carefree smile. I really want to see you happy Ann, I thought as I looked at her, the golden hue of the setting sun reflected on her eyes, the soft gentle breeze from outside caressing away her hair. She was mesmerizing.

We reached our institute soon, and as everyone walked inside their respective classes I pulled Ann aside to an empty corridor.

"What happened?" She asked me completely surprised.

"Don't ask me what happened! It's I who should ask you what happened?" I snapped at her and immediately regretted my actions. Why the hell am I so agitated? I asked myself. She looked at me with surprise taken aback.

"I...I'm...I am really sorry Ann! I...I didn't mean to be this rude!" I spoke trying to amend for my rudeness. "It's just...I...I really wished you would have trusted me enough to let me know what was making you worried, and...and don't try to hide it, the others may have not noticed but I know, something must have happened right?" I asked her. His face looked vulnerable, she knew she cannot hide from me anymore.

"I am sorry Sid!" she apologized as she held her head low.

"Hey!" I said as lifted her chin up so that her eyes met mine. "It's okay! I am here. No matter what I am here!"

She looked at me and her expression softened, she could sense the sincerity in my voice as I smiled a little.

"There is something I really gotta tell you, Sid".

"I am listening!" I replied. I am here Ann, trust me, please!  I screamed in my head. I wanted to be the one she depends on, the one she searches for, the one she could rely on.

Taking a deep breath, she told me what happened with her sister last night.

"I don't know what to do anymore...!" She spoke, her voice was so worried and scared.

"Everything is gonna be alright! Just don't worry okay? We will find a way out of this," I said trying to give her courage while I held her in my arms. She hung her head down in a way of hiding her tears that were trying to roll down her cheeks.

"Hey! Are you crying?" I asked her while lifting her head up to look at me.

"No, it's just... It's nothing..." She started to shatter with her words and finally broke down in tears.

"Hey, please don't cry Ann! Shh... Everything is going to be okay...I promise you... Just don't worry," I said, almost pleading with her while whipping away her tears. I don't know why but I felt so sad when I saw tears in her eyes. Her tears tore me from inside.

"Look at me!! I am here, no matters what, okay? So don't worry. I promise I will find out a solution to this," I said while I pulled her to hug me.
