Pihu's POV

Yesterday night was quite horrible. Ann told us about the spooky affairs that have been going on in this house. When I first entered this house I kind of felt the presence of something sinister. I didn't believe in my instincts at first, but now I do.

Today morning I decided to go out for a morning walk with Ann. None of us could sleep properly after what happened yesterday night. It would be refreshing! I hoped.

"Hey, Pihu! Ready?" Ann called out while tying her shoelaces.

"Yup, almost done!" I replied putting my jacket on while coming down the stairs.

"Let's go!" She said while unlocking the front door. As we stepped out, the cool breeze touched our bare faces making us shiver. It was foggy around.

"It's really cold in the morning here," I said rubbing my hands together to keep myself warm.

"Yup!" Ann replied as she pulled the chain of her tracksuit up to her neck. We took Shallow with us and walked through the umber-brown forest that was situated beside our house. The twigs were crunching under our feet as we ventured deeper into the tangled heart of these uninhabited woods. The morning sun was yet to rise and the place was surrounded with a directionless white mist. We walked for a while without talking, each one of us enjoying the splendid nature. A comfortable silence surrounded us accompanied by the euphonious chirping of birds in the distance.

The further we went the more mystical and beautiful it became

The further we went the more mystical and beautiful it became. Huge roots of the tall trees spread across the forest floor carpeted with the fallen leaves and mosses. I looked up, the foliage became thick and lush, forming an arch-like above our heads. Rays of mellow sunlight filtered through the verdurous canopy of the rustling leaves, casting an unearthly golden-green luminescence over the forest floor. The sap sweet fragrance of the forest washed over us as we walked on.

Suddenly with a loud bark Shallow broke the silence, gaining our attention as he ran off into the mist.

"Shallow!" We shouted and ran behind him to catch him. He was so fast. Nothing could be seen properly amidst the fog resulting in us tripping on bumpy roots. Cold dewy leaves brushed against us as we tried to follow Shallow's loud barks echoing through the forest.

"Shallow!" Ann called out as we saw him standing near a stream, following him we found ourselves in a mesmerizing place, the trees opened in a wide glade, revealing the bright bespeckled sky. The morning sun peeked underneath the soft clouds. It was such a splendid sight.

"Good boy!" Ann said, panting heavily for air as she patting him, "You brought us to such a beautiful place!"

"Yeah! We were already exhausted running behind you!" I said as I patted him, while he was wagging his tail in happiness, "We really needed some fresh water!" I said while sitting on the soft earth covered with grass.
