"Don't worry we will sort this, I already have a plan" Chloe smirked mischievously. I hated Chloe's plans. They always got me into trouble. "I will be right back. I have already informed the guys. This won't take long at all" I tried to grab her hand to stop her rushing out the door. My parents we're in the spare room getting washed up. I was already sorted for tonight and was now making a start of setting up the table outside on the patio. Nothing could save me from this except running. I made my way down the hall glasses in hand but stopped when I heard my parents talking through the spare room door. "Why would she not tell us about him?" My mom whispered but I could hear her clearly. "I don't know Helen but give her a chance. If Chloe is right this Dean man will be good enough for Cassie. All we can do is meet him and make a decision from there" My hand flew up to my mouth to stop a loud shriek. I couldn't believe they knew about him. And this must have been Chloe's plan. If she was bringing Dean round I had to stop her. I turned on my heels and rushed to put the glasses back in the kitchen on the counter. I rushed to put my shoes on and bolted to pull the door when to my horror Chloe was stood about to knock with Seth, Roman and Dean behind her. My eyes became wide as I pushed them to allow me out the door slamming it shut to hide the men I didn't want my parents to see. "Chloe! What are you playing at?!" I snapped pointing my finger in her face. She folded her arms over her chest smirking like I missed something. "Have you seen how good and presentable Dean looks" My eyes shot to him the moment she finished. I couldn't help but smile. He looked so handsome. "I never thought I would see the day you wash up well" I laughed in a whisper hoping my parents hadn't noticed us here. He was wearing nice jeans, clean boots that looked like he had just bought them, a shirt and had actually combed his hair. His dimples showed as he smiled back at me seeing my reaction. I quickly glanced at the other two to see they had made an effort also. As I listened to Chloe's explanation people arrived. I pushed the door open so they could head inside.

"So we are not exactly lying. Dean's Mom is worth a fortune and Roman does own a business on the side. We just say Dean is Co-founder and then everything will be ok. They won't know any different Cassie" I thought for a moment looking between them all. The second my eyes locked with Dean's I knew I had to give this a shot. If I was to avoid being forced to marry some stranger then I had to give this a shot.  I wasn't going down without an attempt at my freedom as some would say. "Also I had a look at Dean's new house earlier. If your parents get suspicious all we have to do is arrange for them to come over and they will be convinced. I have never seen a house so lavish in my life" I thought back to the pictures of the house. It was impressive, stylish. They would fall for that. But could Dean keep the act up? I wasn't so sure. Would any of our friend's drop us in it? I hoped not. "So what do we say if they ask about us?" I pointed between myself and Dean. "I told them it hasn't gone as far as dating yet but you are getting to know each other. You met at work as he was a client..." I had to stop her there. "Do you know you just made my parents think I am some hussy just from saying he was a client I am getting to know right then and there?!" I snapped feeling myself get stressed again. "Your mom and dad didn't seem bothered. Look Cassie, You need to do this because if you end up going with what they want you will be leaving for good. Not to another state but to England because that is where Mathew lives" I sunk back against the wall nodding to agree. I had to give this a shot. Dean rested his hand reassuringly on my shoulder. I looked up to see he wasn't one bit worried by all this. He was confident as always and that made me feel even worse. "Ok, let's try and do this without messing it up" Chloe pushed us all inside. I guess it was now or never.

The get together with drinks was all in full swing. My parents we're talking to my friends not really paying much attention to the three men stood alone in the corner drinking beer. I sighed out as I watched Dean smiling with his friends. I had never seen him actually smile like that before. Not with other people anyway. "Cassie" My mom smiled at me breaking me from my thoughts. I turned to smile back to see a very attractive man I had never seen before. His perfect smile aimed in my direction, his teeth the most perfect I had ever seen. He had brown hair and green eyes. His watch was a solid gold Rolex. This had to be..."Mathew...my daughter Cassie" Mathew took my hand placing a kiss on the back of it. I felt a shudder shoot up my arm as his lips made contact. Gladly taking my hand back he continued to smile at me. He kept his eyes on my face, not once did he look me up and down. Not like Dean would. It felt strange to have a man look at me this way yet keep his eyes where they are suppose to be. "It's lovely to meet you" His British accent rolled directly off his tongued and sounded like music to my ears. He had a manly voice yet his tone was gentle. I stood there like some stupid mute just watching him as my mom continued to babble on between us. His eyes not once left mine as he continued to smile warmly at me. "Oh look at you two, already it's love at first sight" My mom beamed as she noticed the silence between us as our eyes never moved from each other. I wasn't in love, I was more entranced by this stranger. I couldn't help it. I felt like I was betraying Dean but nothing would be happening. I could look just once couldn't I? "Your daughter is very beautiful, I'm sure she is kind and perfect in every way" I couldn't help but flush red as his cheesy British accented comment. It was suppose to be flattering but I felt myself cringe at his words. "Oh Mathew. Your such a charmer. Cassie, why don't you two get to know each other. I shall leave you two to it" My mom waltzed off with excitement in her voice. I stayed silent unsure of what to say or do. I so badly wanted to look at Dean, I wanted to see his rare genuine smile. I just couldn't tear my eyes away from Mathew.

"You have a really nice place here" He finally broke the awkward silence, awkward because I was staring at him without so much as a 'hey how are you?'. I was also biting my lip without realizing till it began to sting. "Thanks" I blushed red not really knowing what else to say. "It feels strange, our parents arranging something like this" he knew? Of course he knew. He seemed to except it also. Not like me who would not go down without a fight. I still had to introduce Dean to my parents in hope they would be tricked into thinking he was just as good enough. "And your ok with it?" I had to find out. I was curious. He seemed to be delighted by the idea. He couldn't stop smiling at me. "I've heard so much about you, any man would be lucky to marry you. But you don't seem happy about it" I froze as he saw right through my fake smile which instantly dropped. My eyes darted away from Mathew around the room. I suddenly couldn't look at him at all. My eyes latched with Dean's. He was watching us. Not smiling anymore expressionless. I felt like he was about to come over here and pull me away. I so hoped he could do that without my parents objection. "Is he someone you care about?" Mathew continued meaning Dean as he saw us watching each other. My eyes dragged back to Mathew but I kept my eyes on his chest. I nodded feeling embarrassed. If I was honest with him maybe he would understand and we could pretend it just wouldn't work out. "I see, I have someone back in England. My parents don't approve of her. That's why they agreed for this" He motioned pointing between us. I knew now he was in the same boat as me, only I had hope they could accept Dean if we played it well enough. "It was nice meeting you. I'm going back to the hotel to tell my parents we don't match. If they ask I'll just say our personality's don't match" I nodded feeling a pang of guilt. Not for him but his and my parents. Clearly this wouldn't work but I had to take the chance for them to like Dean. Even if it was only a little bit.

I turned my gaze which had been on the floor as Mathew walked back through my home to leave. I saw my mom who was watching me worried. Before I even had the chance to do or say anything Dean was by my side taking my hand in his and lacing his fingers with mine. I didn't react, I just let it happen as my mom's eyes became wide as she watched us. "You can do this, I love you and we are doing this together...ok" I nodded biting my lip as my mom and dad approached us. My dad looked down at our hands then back at Dean with a slight shocked expression. "Cassie? Is this Dean?" I nodded placing my other hand across my body and onto his bicep gently. "Mom, Dad, I know you want what is best for me but I found someone on my own. Please give us a chance" I then became silent as my mom and Dad took in what I had just told them. This was the most crucial moment. Now would determine if they would accept Dean and myself and not force me to marry someone I hardly know. I was lucky this time Mathew understood and had a heart. My Dad made the first move by reaching out to shake Dean's hand. My mom and I stayed silent as we watched them both. "You love my daughter?" My dad asked sternly as they released the handshake. "Yes sir" Dean spoke with assurance. "Are you able to take care of her?" Dean replied again "Yes sir" I had never heard him this polite before except to his own mom. "What do you do for a living?" My dad was starting the 3rd degree. I didn't know if we would get through this but we had to. "I am co-founder of a debt collection management business" Really Dean? You couldn't think of anything else to say? Luckily my dad was buying it. "Yearly income?" Oh god here we go. Dean began to clear his throat. "After tax I have a yearly income of $100,000" I could have face palmed myself right there. Even I wouldn't believe that. My heart was beginning to race. I felt like I wanted to hyperventilate. "You going to marry my daughter? Or are you not a serious man Dean?" I gulped at his question. My mom waited wide eyed as she looked back at me. "Yes sir, I love Cassie. I have wanted to marry her for a long time" Oh fuck fuck fuck fuck!

My mom began to smile happily. She was now taking in Dean's appearance. I couldn't believe they was actually falling for it. "Well good" My Dad held out his hand to shake Dean's. I sighed out relieved as he then yanked Dean from me and began to walk and talk with him. My mom grabbed onto my arm smiling after them. "Why didn't you tell us you met a rich man with an established business?" I frowned at her remark. That was all they cared about. "What if he wasn't rich mom? Would you have both denied him access to your daughter?" My mom sighed as she watched my dad hand Dean a cigar and they both began to drink whiskey as they continued to talk. "Of course not Honey. Me and your dad won't be here forever. We want to make sure you and any gran kids are well looked after. We can't have you struggling once we are gone" I felt myself want to yell at her as she made that remark. I couldn't help but feel pressure of my shoulders as they seemed to be believing Dean's false story. I couldn't help but worry about what if they fund out he wasn't who they think he is.
