The parable of the lamp.
Matthew 5:15" Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house."
Mark4 :31" And he said to them, "Is a lamp brought in to be put under a basket, or under a bed, and not on a stand?"
Luke 8:16
"No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light"
In the parable of the lamp,Jesus tells us that no one lights a lamp in order to hide it. Instead those who light a lamp set it on a table to fill the whole room with light.
We look at Matthew 5:16, Jesus says "In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven." Jesus was saying i think allow the goodness within you to produce good works, so that God is glorified.
Let your light shine. Let the world see the light from you. The same way a lamp lights up the room, jesus is telling us to light up the world. To show the world what the lord has done for us and encourage them to follow jesus by repenting.
