"Yes. I would like to adopt Sky Winters." I told him.

"But you already have two kids."

"I know but Sky has just lost his only family, the rest won't accept him for who he is and I doubt they even know Sky exists. And I've seen how upset Sky is. He may be thirteen, but he's gone through some tough times. I mean, his father nearly died five times before and this time, fate was cruel enough to kill both his parents. Not that I really believe in fate but my point is, I want to adopt Sky." I finished.

I could see that he was thinking about this.

"If you won't let me adopt him because I want to, then let me adopt him as my reward." I hated saying that because Sky was a person, not an object.

"Seems fair enough." he said.

"Wait, what? You're just going to say yes? Just like that?"

"You mean wanted me to say no?"

"No! Not at all! I just thought it'd be harder to persuade you." I replied hesitating.

"Great. I'll send you the adoption papers in a bit."

I took the hint and left.

Wow. That was super easy. Talk about good timing.

Thoughts ran through my head and I was so distracted I didn't see the person right in front of me.

"Ow!" I said when I bumped into the guy.

"Are you ok?" it was Tyler.

"Oh hi Tyler. Sorry. I didn't see you there."

"It's fine. I wasn't looking where I was going either." we stood there for an awkward few seconds.

"Well, I'd better go. Cya around." I waved goodbye and left.

Jeez, stupid stupid stupid!

~~~~
"Hi! I'm back!" I shouted, closing the front door.
"Hi Alecxis. Where'd you run off to?" Max emerged from the kitchen.
"Oh well... You're gunna hate me for this..."
"I could never hate you. What did you do?" he asked as we sat down.
"Eh... MARIA! LEO! SKY!" I shouted.
"What was that for?" Max questioned, his ear covered.
"I'm not explaining twice." I told him.
"Ok.."
All three kids came down.
"What is it Mam?" Maria asked.
"Sit down guys." Max said. Leo, Sky and Maria did as they were told.
"Ok. Max, Maria, Leo. You're all getting a new family member. Sky, welcome to our family!"
Everyone's jaws dropped.
"What?" they all asked.
"Well, it's not official. Yet. I went to ask the leader would he allow me and Max to adopt Sky. After a lot of persuading, he agreed." I lied.
"Cool!" Leo cried.
"Not another brother!" Maria pretended to be mad and upset.
"Are you serious?!" Sky asked, shocked and clearly not as shy as he first made it out to be.
"Are you out of your mind?!" Max yelled at me.
"Nope. Well... I did say I AM insane but not today. Today, I am in my right mind and I'm serious." I said.
I explained what happened, leaving out the fact I went through the Winters' files and that the leader has instantly agreed to me adopting Sky.
After I had done so, Sky had a huge grin on his face.
"Sky Maria. Leo. Don't make me regret this." I told them firmly just as the doorbell rang. I went out to the hall and opened it.
It was Aidan. He had a bunch of papers in his hands.
"Are you serious about this?" he asked.
"Eh?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"About adopting a child. I mean, you already have Maria and Leo to look after."
"I'm sure about it." I replied, taking the adoption papers from my brother.
"Alright... When do you plan on telling the others? And what will Max say to his parents?"
"We'll sort that out later."
~~~~

I had just finished filling in everything and now the only thing left to do was to get the leader to sign the papers with his signature and the stamp.

~~~~
It was official. Sky Winters was now mine and Max's son.
After a load of explaining to our families, I finally got away.
"Come one Sky. We need to get you some new clothes and some other things." I said.
"Ok."
We went to the portals and I set the destination to the main city.
~~~~

We got Sky a whole new bunch of clothes and things. He got a new phone and headphones and all of that. We did get Sky's old things and possessions from his old home, along with a load of photos and things from his past.

"How are you settling in, Sky?" I asked.

"Good."

"What does it feel like, going from being an only child then having two younger siblings?"

"I like it. Leo is loads of fun and Maria is fun to play with."

"That's good."

~~~~
I left Sky to sort out his new room.
"Alecxis!" Max yelled.
"What?!"
"Did you do your 'homework' yet?"
"What home- Oh god! No! Dammit! I'll be in our room if you need me! Also, don't disturb for at least an hour unless it's a level seven emergency or over." I raced up to mine and Max's bedroom, opened my holographic computer and I started typing.
An hour later, I got my report done. I was tired from non-stop typing for an hour straight.
"Now all I need to do is send." I told myself.
I went over it for grammar mistakes and so on, then I sent it to the commissioner.
"I don't care if I was supposed to hand it in on paper. To time consuming." I said.
I got an instant reply back.
Sorry there's a lot of time skips, it's just if I didn't, you'd be reading Alecxis and Sky going shopping. And cleaning. And collecting stuff. That's just not the kind of book people like to read. {Sorry if I offend anyone.}
