A New Beginning

Chapter Twenty Five: Trouble

I stood outside the door of the medical room. I was laughing my head off. 

You'd think that in that room was three immature little boys, but no. Inside the room, fighting and calling names, was three grown males, one of which was the commissioner and the other two high ranking soldiers. 

After five minutes, everything went quiet.

"What happened?..." I asked myself. I had my hand open the door handle when Aidan broke the door down.

"Ah!" Aidan fell flat on his face.

I had moved out of the way just in time.

"Gee." he got up, rubbing his head.

"How'd the fighting go?" I asked, an amused grin crept onto my face.

"What? Oh yeah... CYA!" Aidan ran off.

I laughed again. Since Aidan had left, I went inside to see the room scorched, flooded, earth pillars everywhere and vines hanging down from the ceiling.

"Wow. How could three boys do THIS much damage?" I questioned myself.

I saw Jack sitting on the ground with James standing with him.

"Hi guys. How'd things go in here?.." I saw a flash of anger pass through the two pairs of piercing, glowing eyes. "Uh... Bye!" I turned and fled.

Looks like we're in trouble. Again. Why am I always dragged into this? I shook my head as I slowed down.

I was at my front door. I didn't have a key so I had to knock on the door.

*Knock knock*

Sky opened it.

"Mam!" he threw his arms around me. 

"Hey Sky. Where the others?"

"Outside. Dad is trying to do a barbecue but set the grill on fire several times." he went to the backyard.

"Well that is not surprising." I thought out loud.

I headed to the backyard myself and saw Max frantically trying to stop a fire.

I sighed. Then, using magic, snapped my fingers and the fire went out.

"What the heck happened?" Max asked, confused.

"I happened." I replied, stepping out into the garden.

"Alecxis!" Max came over to me.

"Mam!" Leo and Maria ran over to us. Sky walked over since we'd already said hi and all.

"Hey kids. Has dad been failing since I left?"

"Yes!" the three of them answered.

"Oi! I'm not THAT bad!" Max insisted.

We all laughed then I went over to the grill.

"Ok. If you not that bad, how come you're frying the burger buns and not the actual burgers themselves?" I questioned, pointing to the now burnt bread buns.

"Um..."

"FAIL!" Maria, Leo and Sky yelled.

Max shrugged. I sighed and got to work fixing the barbecue.

"Really? So now that you're back, you are actually going to stay?" Max asked, pouring a ton of ketchup onto his burger.

"Yep. I'm back for a least a month. I'm definitely grounded and not to mention the fact the Aidan and I totally ran out on Jack and James." I said, remembering what had happened.

"I guess. Also, how come you never told me you were this good at making burgers on a grill?" Max was stuffing his face.

"Dunno. Anyway, how's you're burgers, Maria, Leo and Sky?"

"Yummy." Leo said, patting his stomach to show it was delicious.

"Great." Maria replied, taking a big bite of hers.

"Delicious." Sky answered, licking his fingers as grease and ketchup was on them.

"That's good." I told them.

-Aidan's P.O.V.-

I was in my house with Aliyah.

"Aidan, I'm nervous." Aliyah kept repeating.

"I know. We'll tell everyone soon enough. What will your mom and dad say?" I asked, trying to change the subject.

"That's the thing! I don't know. I'm scared that they'll be mad when we tell them." Aliyah replied, pacing up and down the living room.

"Aliyah, sit down." I patted the couch to indicate to her to sit down. She did. "Your parents can't be mad at you. They have to be happy. Anyway, there's no going back now." I told her.

"Yeah. You're right."

-Jack's P.O.V.-

After Alecxis and Aidan fled, I had to go back to training. James left me to it as he had a ton of paper work to do. He told me that if I see either of them, I had to tell them they're in trouble.

Then again, it's not rare that they are in trouble.

*Beep*

"Who is it now?"  I asked, annoyed.

I picked up my phone and looked at it.

Aidan: Come to the main hall at 3:00 Could u tell the others to come as well? Thnx.

What's this about?

I didn't think to hard about it and I sent a text to the others, meaning our family and close friends.

Jack: Everybody, meet up in the main hall at 3:00 sharp.

I pressed 'Send' and placed my phone on the table once again.

-Alecxis' P.O.V.-

*Beeeeeeeeeep*

"Sorry guys. I'd better get this." I said.

*Beep beep*

"I got a message too." Max pulled out his own phone.

I read my message out loud, knowing it wasn't private.

"Jack texted everybody, meet up in the main hall at 3:00 sharp." I announced.

"Same here. It's five to three. If we want to be there on time, we' better head." Max reasoned.

"Ok. Everybody, let's get moving!" I exclaimed, clapping my hands together.

We entered the main hall. Most of the others were already there.

"Hey! Alecxis!" Jack rushed towards me.

"Hey, what's this all about?" I asked.

"I was hoping you'd know. But I'm sure it'll be clear soon enough." Jack said.

"Yeah. Wait, are you still made at us for running out on you and James earlier?" I questioned, stepping to the side.

"No. Well, yes. I mean yes and no. James will probably call for you and Aidan later so be ready sis." Jack warned.

"I will be. But won't you be there too?"

"Ye-"

A loud bell rang out, cutting Jack off. We all turned to the stage like area.

"Wait, this has to do with Aida?!" I asked myself, a little confused.

"Everyone! We have an announcement to make!" Aidan shouted with Aliyah standing beside him.
