It was the first day of school when boy meets girl. As cliché as this sounds, girl fell in love with the boy but kept it as a secret as their friendship starts to grow.
In the middle of the semester, the boy starts teasing the girl, having jokes with her, and laughing their butts off until a teacher scolds them.
Many of the other students thought they have a "thing", because of how they acted around each other. Resulting it for girl to feel awkward around boy but chose to shrug that feeling and still hang out with him.
The sad part is that, boy has someone else to love and girl is left one-sided. It saddened her to really thought about them being together. But as long as he's happy, she's happy. That's what friends are for right?
She helped him through everything, like comforting him whenever he fails, cheering him up when he broke up with his girlfriend, and being a true friend to him.
She was falling hard and it hurt her to hide those feelings from him. But she didn't want to take any risks, she sometimes hoped that he might like her back but the way he acted around her and called her his "friend" drained those thoughts away.
It was the last day of school, so much crying and drama happened. She was one of those who cried, saying she'll miss her classmates and all that. Grabbing her bag and was about to leave the door when she was stopped by a familiar voice.
It was him.
He smiled at her smugly, teasing her about being a crybaby. She laughed and playfully hit him on the shoulder. He stopped and opened up his arms, they hugged each other for awhile and said their "see you's" to each other.
But when will that "see you" happen again? Never.
He left.
It was their last hug, and last words to each other.
She didn't even had the chance to tell him how she felt. Didn't had the chance to properly chat with him before he left. That girl regretted her actions, because she already loved him.
That girl had her only chance, but she had to let it go soon.
And that girl is me.
