So...how can a scientist trick a mermaid into popping her tail or trapping her? Some mermaids wonder this, so they know what to look out for.
1. One way is to use a sprinkler or hose or a squirt gun or something similar. Why? This way the mermaid is stuck on land, and is useless unless she uses her powers. It's easy to trap her when she's like this.
2. Another way is to trap her into a pool. We seen this in H2O: Just Add Water. It works, but not quite. You have them trapped, but the mermaids can stay in the water and can refuse to come out. This puts you in a dangerous situation. You can either go in the water with a mermaid that has a powerful tail that could damage you, or wait it out.
3. A third way is to lure her with bling. "Bling" meaning necklaces, earrings, brackets, and watches. Every mermaid and merman is obsessed with some sort of bling, and once you know, you can use it against her will.
These are just three ways to do this. There's definitely more to look out for!
