If you search up "mermaids" and you go to images, you might see pictures of mermaids without tops.
So a good friend of mine on Wattpad (I'm not sure if she wants me to use her name) is transforming into a mermaid tomorrow, and she's afraid if she'll have no top.
So I'm just here to clear it all up: yes, some mermaids don't have tops. It's our history. But over time, mermaids started to have tops transformed on them.
It's kind of rare to see a mermaid without a top, but if you do see one awhile you're swimming: do not stare. It is rude and disrespectful. Yes, I understand you might have never seen a mermaid without covering, but she might be as uncomfortable as you are.
So, what if you transform without a top? Well...
1. Be thankful. Yes, I understand you might not other mers seeing you, but the "water gods" blessed you with this gift.
2. Don't be embarrassed. Like I said, it's mermaid history and culture.
