Alex's eyes were closed as she sat at the kitchen counter, head resting on the marble. Her arms hung down freely, which would have been very uncomfortable, if  she had been awake. But she was asleep. A light sleep, but sleep none the less. She'd stayed up the night before talking to Quartz and just couldn't seem to wake up that morning. She'd made it to the kitchen, meaning to get breakfast, but had fallen asleep before her microwavable pancakes were ready.

In her dream, a smiling green-aura-ed child, disfigured in only a way possible in dreams, laughed softly as it steadily advanced on her. Dream Alex watch in apathy, to tired to give a fuck. She didn't even react when when the kid stood right in front of her and grinned creepily. She just stared at him.

"Hey, Alex..." A familiar voice came out of the kid's mouth, though his teeth were clenched shut. In the real world, a sharp puff of air was blown onto the back of her neck. "BOO!"

"FUCKING HELL!" The blue-haired host yelled, jerking awake and actually falling off her stool. The person who had woken her burst out laughing. Alex wrenched open one of her eyes and glared up at the teenage cosplaying ghost who had so rudely brought her back to the land of the living. "BENJAMIN, YOU. ARE. DEAD."

"Why yes, I am." Ben joked, grinning down at her. It took Alex a second to realize what he'd just done, and when she did, she deadpanned at him.

"You little fucker." She growled. "What the hell are you doing in my house anyways? You left, and if I remember correctly--and I do--you can't come in without permission if you're not a member of the household."

Ben wasn't phased by her murderous attitude. He smirked in a fuck boy way and put his hands behind his head.

"Jeff let me in."

"Oh, he's dead, so dead, I'm forcing him up the magnolia tree." Alex muttered to herself. Ben winced a little bit, remembering the punishments Alex had a tendency to force upon people in her house who annoyed her or, worse, broke something. "So, why are you here?"

"Can't I just visit my old boss?" Ben asked playfully. Alex raised an eyebrow, unbelieving. Ben sighed. "Slendy sent me..."

"What for?" Alex immediately asked. Daemon and Slendy were best friends, and Alex didn't have a problem with the older being, but when he sent someone for her it usually wasn't for a light and fluffy reason.

"4th of July celebration."

Alex stared blankly up at him. The hell--

"The whole Daemon household is invited." Ben added.
