Killian's POV

We finished the movie and then Emma went to bed. I watched her walk into her room, and I wondered what she was doing, that would cause her to run like that. I stared at her bedroom door, hoping she would come back out.

Emma's POV

I finished watching the movie with Killian and then went into my room. The movie didn't even scare me to be honest. I just wanted to be held. The way Killian had wrapped his arms around me in a way of protecting me was so sweet, and it felt like I was supposed to be there. Like I was made for him. And I loved how his hands didn't wander. One was placed on my back and the other was still on my back, but closer to my hip. His fingers would rub soothing and calming circles into my skin.

I climbed out onto the fire escape and leaned over the railing. I looked out at the lights in the night. Sounds of cars honking and tires skidding on the road could be heard in the distance. I heard a girl giggling and two sets of footsteps underneath me. I looked down on the ground and saw a man and a woman walking down the street.

"Where is your place?" He asked. I knew that voice anywhere. Graham.

"It's just around this corner," she said while holding onto his shirt.

I climbed back into the window with a smirk on my face. "Sorry, buddy, but I'm over you."

I got changed into my pajamas with a smile on my face, and fell asleep with one person on my mind. The man I know who truly cares about me. Killian.

Killian's POV

When I realized Emma wasn't going to come out again, I got ready for bed. I climbed under the sheets and put my hands under my head and stared up at the ceiling. I heard rattling out on the fire escape, and smirked to myself. Emma was thinking again.

When I woke up again, it was about 3:30 in the morning. It was dead silent and pitch black in the room. I tossed and turned for about fifteen minutes before deciding that I needed a drink before going to back to sleep. I opened my bedroom door, and was shocked to see Emma already sitting on the couch. She turned her head when she looked at me, and I saw tear streaks on her face. The tv was on but muted. I sat down beside her and pulled her into my arms. She didn't fight me. Instead, she held me tight and sobbed into my chest.

"It's alright, love," I whispered.

"H-h-he's the one that did it," she choked out. Her tears wet my shirt as they fell, but I didn't care.

"Who did what?"

"Drugged me. Graham drugged me."

"How do you know?"

"I just had a dream about it."

I pulled back and looked her in the eyes. I wiped the tears from her cheeks and cradled her head. "I will not let him hurt you. There is nothing he can do to you, alright? I'll always be here for you." She sniffed and nodded. I pulled her in for another hug, and laid gentle kisses on her head. Her breathing slowly returned to normal, and she had stopped crying. She pulled back and put her hand on the back of my neck. She brought me closer to her face until we could feel each other's breath on our faces. "Swan," I warned.

"Shut up and kiss me."

I didn't need to be told twice. I really hoped that this wasn't a dream. As my lips connected with hers, I felt sparks run through my body. Nothing could compare to how it felt when I kissed Emma. Her lips were soft, and she was a bloody fantastic kisser. We kissed until we both needed air. She pulled away first and put her forehead on mine.

"Emma." I looked in her eyes, down to her lips, and then back in her eyes. "That was-"

"I know." And at that moment, I knew that she had felt what I did.

"This is going to change-"

"Everything. I know." She pulled away from me, but her eyes never left mine. "I really like you, Killian."

"I don't want you to be acting like this because of how you're feeling right now."

"All I feel, is that I really really want to be with you."

I smiled. "I want to be with you too, love."

Emma got up and went over to her bedroom door. "Night. Again."

I chuckled. "Goodnight."

I lay awake for most of the night, just thinking about mine and Emma's kiss. Could what we have grow to something more? We had already gone to dinner with each other and had breakfast together almost every morning. I knew most of the things about her. Maybe I could get her to give up more things about her past.

I turned onto my side and stared at the wall, wondering if Emma was lost in her thoughts like I was. Neither of us had work in the morning, so I knew staying up wasn't going to have major consequences. I turned back onto my back, staring at the ceiling once again.

Two faint knocks drew me from my head. They were so soft I wasn't even sure if I had heard correctly, or if it was my ears playing tricks on me. "Come in," I called and sat up. A second later, the door pushed open and Emma was standing there with her arms wrapped around herself. "Are you alright, love?"

"I couldn't sleep," she said and looked down at her feet.

I chuckled which caused her to look up at me again. "Isn't that funny. Neither could I. Do you want to stay in here?"

"Would it be okay?" She asked hesitantly.

"Absolutely." I scooted over and pulled the blankets back. She climbed into the bed and settled next to me. I instantly wrapped my arms around her and she snuggled into my embrace. "This is nice," I whispered and kissed her head.

She let out a soft giggle that made me smile. "Yeah, it is."
