She comes back home to find a note on the table
Telling her that she will have to cook dinner tonight
And her parents will be home from work at seven expecting a meal.
They get home at seven fifteen
With dinner on the table
And their daughter sitting there waiting to eat.
They all enjoy their meal
As her parents ask her how school was.
"It was good," she spoke
After she finished her bite of rice.
"I talked to many of my friends
From last year!"
"That's great darling, we have yet to meet them," her mother exclaimed, her almond eyes smiling.
She wondered who would ever be close enough friends with her to meet her parents.
Nobody.
