Chapter 41: Bond between father and daughter

Tsukiko and Hikari are now inside a strange dimension, where they found Lord Kino locked up in a cage,
Hikari looks hurt looking at father locked up in the cage,
"...I..why did I ever think that I could be happily after I did something so terrible?" Kino said
"Because of the decision I made while gripped with hatred and anger, I've taken both humans...and demons to their deaths," He said

"For my selfish desire...I took many lives with these bloody hands of mine...I took the lives of many innocent people...I do not deserve to live..." Kino said
"No that's not true...you...you did it to protect he lives of the villagers," Tsukiko said not knowing what else to say,

"Of course...what I did was unforgivable, just look around you," Lord Kino said and suddenly many souls that are tainted black appeared around them,
"T-they're...."

"They are the souls of the demons and villagers that I killed years ago, even after many years have passed they still reside within this lands, filled with hatred and sorrow," lord Kino said
"...young lady...what's your name?" Lord Kino asked,
"My name is Tsukiko..."

"I see...forgive me for asking even though I wounded your friends but Tsukiko, can I ask you for one favor?"
"Yes...yes of course what is it?" Tsukiko asked,
"Can you please...purify these poor souls?"
"Huh?....but..."

"I see a very bright light in you, I'm sure that power can save these souls, please....I'm begging you," Lord Kino said
"Can I really do it?..." Tsukiko wondered,
"Yes you can..." Suddenly Akira said in her head,

"Very well....I will do it," Tsukiko said then her body is covered in light, and the light illuminates everything around her, the souls became bright again free from their sorrow, and they slowly fade away....

"...it's good to see you again, Hikari," Lord Kino said "Even though I don't have the right to say such things...I know you hated me for what I did...forgive me,"
"....you're wrong...father," Hikari called him father which surprised Lord Kino,

"What...did you call me?" Lord Kino asked,
"Father...I knew why you did such horrible things....I overheard your conversation with Kitsurugu before you...before you...it's true that I hated you, when I found out what you done years ago...but I have doubts.... I didn't really believed that you would do such things...at that time I thought you might use me to exterminate more demons, that thought scared me,"

"I must've scared you....I hid the truth from you because I was afraid that you might leave me...forgive me...it was your life...it wasn't my place to bind you," Lord Kino said sadly,

"But I was happy! Because I had you! The time we spent together, I was happy! You are a father to me! You've done your role as a father!" Hikari said with tears in her eyes,

"I understand...I understand....that's why...please come back...Father!" When Hikari called him father again,
"Is that so?....I'm...glad.." Lord Kino broke into tears,

And from those tears, the cages was purified and Lord Kino was set free.
"Thank you...Tsukiko..., not just for letting me see my daughter again but for stopping me and that sword, and for purifying the souls of the dead as well. Those thing wouldn't have happened without you...now then, I must go," Lord Kino said as he stares into the distant. His eyes are now filled with peace,

"No! Wait!" Hikari shouted,
"Lord Kino!"

"That's right...I almost forgot...Tsukiko,"
"Yes?"
"I believe this belongs to you...." Lord Kino holds out two crystal fragments, it's no longer tainted.
"Those are crystal fragments," Thee fragments flew toward Tsukiko and landed softly on her palm,
