Third Person Pov
Peter Pan was many things, but affectionate was not one of them. He didn't really show any emotions other than smugness. He also had a very keen sense of pride for himself and the island. Of course, he experienced emotions other than that, but he didn't know how, nor did he want to, showcase them.

How could he keep up his domineering front if he showed any signs of caring? In his eyes, showing emotion was a sign of weakness. An adversary of his could play on that weakness and comprise Peter's control, and he couldn't have that.

Besides, not showing emotion would protect his fragile heart. His trust had been broken entirely too many times for him to let anyone in again. Or so he had thought.

Then, along came one person who became the one exception to that rule. She made him experience feelings that he had never felt before, and as a result he fought against them. Of course, that only fueled the whirlwind of emotions' assault.

For the first time, he gave in. He let the emotions have (partial) control over him; only when they were alone though. He did have a reputation to maintain.

He was a bit envious of her. Everything seemed to come naturally to her. It appeared that she was always able to reign in her emotions, while Peter struggled let his show.

He decided to follow her lead: she did have more experience in the 'affectionate department' than he did.

Though gradually, he did learn how to show emotion, but only to her. It was progress though, and that in itself was a miracle.
