-Bernadette's Time-

"I'M SO LATE! I'M SO LATE! SO VERY VERY LATE I'M SOOOO LAAAAAAATE!"

I rushed down the stairs while haphazardly brushing my hair in the process. I saw my Mom and Dad laughing at me. Again. Ugh, my parents think that I'm their personal clown or something.

"Haha. Very funny guys. I'M GONNA BE LATE! DAD LET'S GO!"

My parents are calmly eating at the table. "Slow down, dear. It's only 6:40 in the morning. You still have time to spare for breakfast," my Mom commented.

I just stared at them, probably looking like a big idiot since they decided to laugh at me again. This seriously has to stop.

"Say WHAT?!"

Dad recovered first, Mom still kept on laughing. "We adjusted the clocks in the house, including your alarm clock. We made it thirty minutes advanced so that you won't be late on your first day."

"Gee, thanks. Really. You guys almost gave me a heart attack." I sat down and grabbed some sunny-side up eggs and ham.

"Anything for the betterment of our daughter," Mom replied, flashing me a peace sign. Then both of them did a high-five. Seriously, they really don't act like their age. My parents act more like teenagers than working adults. But I still love them anyway, in all their aloof glory.  :">

"You're finally graduating this year, huh? I'm so proud of you honey," Dad said as he smiled at me. I smiled back.

"Yeah, finally. Ten more months to go and goodbye high school!"

"Finally decided what to take up in college?" Mom asked.

"Hmm... it depends. I'll think it over." I finished eating and stood up.

"Ahem. Drink your milk, young lady."

"Fine, Mom."

"Don't forget to brush your teeth afterwards," Dad added.

"Mom, Dad, I know. I'm not a baby anymore. Hello? I am already sixteen, remember?"

Mom just smiled. "But under the law, you're still underage. You are also our child. And so you're still our baby."

"What about Kuya Ronnie? He's your child too but you don't call him a baby." I pouted.

"The two of you are our babies, darling. Now drink your milk and hurry off to school. You're gonna be late."

And I have no choice but to follow. After doing all the necessities, I'm finally ready for school. Hurray. Note the very heavy sarcasm, please.
