You and I against the Gods

Torrentous rage, Wall Street, Fed attack
I stand here and sing my simple melody
in entirely secure celestial peace
your kind loving strength holds me in watch
misery, want, torture, shame and death
Manhattan skyscrapers and nocturnal abyss
Vanity fair of pride and glory, falling silent
however much they're built to impress.

Under proprietary & casualty bankAssurance
indemnification without fine print, disclaimer
having already paid the monthly premiums
with the simple pleasure of my daily prayer
safe from the convenient life of corruption
from predatory life insurance rates
with countless exclusions, cont. added to the policy
whether sin and debt collectors, banging
harshly on the iron cast gates of Hell, terrify
the Legal & General insurance is extremely
well-designed to protect "us," to protect you and I.

Nothing, not even the almighty, unforgiving Gods above
transfaith worshipped in mosques, cathedrals and
recalcitrant Old Testament holy scriptures
much less "them", invariably fooling around on Main Street
nothing can come between you and I.

For the law of our submerged spirit, mind and soul
my precious, natural beauty queen of hearts
has made us free from the law of sin and death
defiance to the old dragons of Central Banks
defiance to the vengeance of death, the FBI
defiance to police brutality and the arrogance
of unjust law enforcement, fear as well
defiance to agora- and islamophobia
or indeed "the fear of Fear itself"
total defiance, baby, is
the only recourse, for you and I.
