Affirmative Action

All things being equal
Cardiovascular disease,
terminal cancer,
bipolar depression,
diabetes mellitus,
chronic respiratory disease
and musculoskeletal conditions
MCD stand above the law
and is seldom
diagnosed
on the noble principles
of moral philosophies.

Major and chronic diseases
in contemporary societies
stifled by aging populations
have become the net equalizer
regarded with great fear
or apprehension
by the ugly, the bad,
the good
and the saint.

Applying affirmative action
on the finite human life span
is like messing with the Fed
or spitting in the wind
It's useless.

Unlike Supreme Court justices
chronic disease does not favor sweet talk,
escort service bribes, junk bonds,
Greenback demand notes,
homeless bums, motherless children,
diligent teachers, corrupt gun-manufacturers,
Palestine lawmakers, Israeli armed militia,
German loan sharks, Syrian refugees,
Mexican immigrants, black lives that matter
and all others who tend to suffer from discrimination.
