So in Alone At Sea Lapis says she misses Jasper, right? And that's why they never talk about her in front of Lapis. But let's think about this.
1.Jasper was defeated in the beta kindergarten. That's an isolated area where the only witnesses were Smoky, Peri, and the other corrupted Jaspers.
2.Lapis and Peridot live in the barn. Now, I know thus is basic knowledge, but if Lapis was at the barn the entire time and Peridot doesn't talk about Jasper, she wouldn't know what happened since Pearl and Garnet are never there.
3.Lapis has mixed feelings about Jasper. Lapis hates Jasper for trapping her, but she also misses Malachite.
4.So just what am I getting at here? What I'm saying is that if/when Lapis finds out where Jasper is, feeling either hate or remorse, she'll free her. If Lapis wanted to fight or Shatter Jasper, she'd want to let her reform first to make it fair. If she wanted to fuse again, well, you know how that'd go down.
"Jasper, fuse with me!"
"Lapis?"
"I need you, you make me stronger!"

Or C) Steven gets all depresses like in Full Disclosure and decides Greg's holding him back from being a gem.

I definitely think this has something to do with Mindful Education. Steven's biggest fear is that he's not Rose, maybe that'll come into play. Or maybe the room will create Rose, which would explain the above.
