Chapter Two

Googleplier's Point of View:

She/He was still asleep when I got home, resting her/his head on my shoulder. I sighed, and set her/him on the couch, placing my hands on my hips. My messaging system has been down since last week, I've had to physically update my inbox. I haven't done it for three days, perhaps I need an update...

Sitting in a chair at the table, I opened my messenger, and swiped a finger down on the little holographic screen that popped up. Resting my chin on my intertwined hands, I waited with a scowl, watching the little loading circle at the top turn slowly. It froze for a second, then started again. Groaning, I watched it do that about six more times.

I ran a hand through my hair as the screen suddenly updated, showing that I had about twenty messages. Five of those were reminders of an update. I clicked on the most recent one, and read the description.

'Faster reload system. More input memory. Faster search rate.'

Frowning, I accepted the update. Sometimes, small updates like these can affect my "personality". Its never a big thing, just small little changes. It might even change how I do things, or react. Two months, seventeen days, four hours, thirty-seven minutes, and fifty-eight seconds ago I had accepted a small update, in which I started to prefer my coffee with creamer. It threw me off for a few days, but slowly worked into it.

Glancing over, I frowned at the child who shifted in my couch, whimpering quietly.  I tapped my finger on the table, resting my head on my other hand. What am I going to do, once it comes time to kill her/him? When will I do that? How will I do it?

So many questions, yet so little answers.

Sighing, I turned back to the holographic screen, and accepted the update. Now, all I have to do is wait.

Well, isn't this funny. An update. Wow. Okay, um. My tablet is still gone, and yeah. Don't expect things to pick back up yet. Just updating this story. I've gotten a lot of demands for an update, and since this one only has one chapter...
