Chapter 5

Emma's POV

I woke up feeling amazing. Not only is it Friday but me Blake and I are hanging out after school.

I ran down the stairs to meet no one as usual. I love my parents but sometimes I feel like they don't love me. I mean they feed me and put a roof over my head but they are never here to love me. I only see my mom once every morning and that's when she's waking me up. I rarely see my dad now. We used to be best friends but then he got a new job and is working most of time.

I grabbed a banana and went outside to my car. I had a blue old beat up pickup truck. It wasn't perfect but I still loved it. I got in and started my way to school.

Once I walked into the halls I was greeted by one of my friends.

"Emma!" Angie screamed as she ran over and gave me a bone crushing hug.

"Hey Ang" I yelped in pain

As soon as she let go she hit me on the arm. What the fuck?

"Ow! What was that for?!" I exclaimed rubbing my arm

"You didn't call or text us for like two days! And you've been practically avoiding us in the halls!" As she was saying this Meg and Eric came and joined us. Great.

"Look guys I'm sorry I've been busy with this project" I said holding my hands up in surrender

"Ok I get it, next time text us saying you're alive" Eric calmly said.

"What?! You're just forgiving her this easy?!" Angie yelled to Eric

God what's her problem? It's only been two days not two months.

"Ang, relax look she's fine you're not her mom so just drop it ok?" Meg said trying to calm our friend down

"Ok fine whatever just next time call" and with that she left.

"What was that about?" I asked

"I have no idea I'm sorry I mean we were all worried but we aren't mad at you" Eric said

"I get it. Look next time I'll call or text you that I'm alive, ok?" I rolled my eyes

"K, I gotta run but I'll see you later bye" Eric quickly said

"Bye Eric" both Meg and I said.

When Eric left Meg turned to me and told me something I've been waiting to hear.

"I think I like Eric" she shyly admitted

"Finally you tell me!" I squealed

"Wait you knew?!" Meg asked in shock

"Of course I knew! Meg, I see the way you look at each other it obvious." I smiled at my clueless friend

"Do you think he likes me?" Meg asked in a hopeful tone

"Definitely!" I nodded

"Holy Shit! He's just perfect Em and we've been hanging out a lot and it's just been so wonderful" Megan cooed clasping her hands together

"I'm so happy for you!" I said while hugging her.

Meg is gorgeous. I hope Eric grows some balls and asks her out already.

The bell rang telling us to go to first period. I was about to close my locker when Blake stopped me.

"Why do you have books?" Blake asked

"Um because I'm in school" I laughed

"I thought we were hanging out? Did you forget?" he said looking hurt
