The brother

Louise's P.O.V.

I just finished my fencing lessons and was heading to the direction of home. On the way , I heard some of them talk about Emma. I hid behind the wall and listen in their conversation.

"Yup, it's true , I heard that his name is Mateo? I think."

Who is Mateo?

"This is so juicy ! Princess Emma has her very first crush!"

I had to bite my tongue from screaming. But this couldn't be real right? Emma would've- okay maybe she wouldn't have told me, but this could just be one of those false rumors that every likes to spread.

"I heard that they were even spotted together at Plikki !"

"No way!"

I agree . Emma told me that she would never date. Okay not never , but still.

"Yes way. There were pictures to prove it."

This isn't real. I shook my head and continued my way home. But still, what if Emma is seeing someone? Why didn't she tell me? I whipped out my phone and called a certain someone who knows .

"Hey mom."

"Louise, what is it sweetie?"

"Do you know someone named Mateo?"

"Your sister's love interest?"

My eyes widened." It's true!" I shouted causing percent to look my way.

Including a group of girls.

"OH MY GOSH !!!!! ITS PRINCE LOUISE!!!!!"

I cursed in my head.

"I got to call you back mom."

I began to run for my life. Why didn't I bring security with me ? I took a few turns , but I could tell that they were a bit close by. I kept on running further away to make sure that I lost them . I looked behind me and they were gone , but because of that , I bumped into someone.

"Ouch!" She exclaimed.

I stood up and helped her up." I am so so sorry , are you okay?"

"Yeah , I'm fine."

Awkward silence.

I cleared my throat.

"Yeah , I um , I have to get going. I'll uh , I'll see you around miss."

"Maxine."

"Excuse me?"

"My name is Maxine Lane."

"Yeah , well sorry for running into you, I just wanted to run from them."

She raised an eyebrow." Who?"

Now it's my eyebrows raised." You don't know me? Not that it's a bad thing , but you really don't know who I am?"

She shook her head." Not a clue."

I smiled at her and gave her my hand to shake." Louise, Prince Louise Agreste."

Her eyes widened." I am so sorry for bothering you or bumping to you for that matter."

I shrugged it off. "Nah , I wasn't looking where I was going anyway , so uh , do you need help with your things?"

I gestured at the elephant sized bags .

"No , it's okay really, I got it."

"I insist, it's the least I could do."

After a few minutes, I won the war and helped her carry her things. We talked a bit and found out that we have a few things in common. She is really nice to be with. She doesn't have a twin , but she has a step brother with the same age as her and they bicker from time to time. Just like Emma and I .

"Siblings can be a pain sometimes, but we still end up loving them ."

I nodded . It's true. Emma could be a pain and Hugo is kind of annoying, but I couldn't help but love those goofs .

"Mateo should be home by now."

That's when I froze.

Mateo.

Her step brother's name is Mateo.

Could it be the same Mateo. That name is kind of common , but not by much.

"Hey , does he have a crush on a girl named Emma?"

She shrugged." He mentioned meeting someone, but he didn't tell me the name , why?"

I shook my head." Nothing, just some rumors that my sister is hanging out with a guy named Mateo."

She nodded.

But still, I want to meet him. And have a little chat with him. Just in case.
