Marinette's P.O.V.

Papers flew around me and the maps drowned the floor. I stood in the midst of it all with the head soldier. He was about 50 with an impressive height of 7'9. He stood stiff and displayed no emotions on his face.

"So, you mean to tell me that after 2 weeks, there are still no reports of Lila?"

"是的殿下"*

I took a deep breath and let it out. "I see. Gather a handful of guards. By tomorrow morning, we will head to the city to give off a message. I want every guard to be on high alert. Am I clear?"

"是的殿下"

"Also, send two more guards to my husband's quarters. Under no circumstances will anyone aside from myself and his doctor are allowed to enter."

He bowed and walked out of the room. Not a second later, I threw my wine glass at the wall. How can this be?! I sent hundreds-thousands! In fact, of soldiers in search of Lila and the police were even on the case. It was only a matter of time, I thought to myself. I will find you Lila. And when I do, you will be sorry you messed with my family.

You can harm me in any way your sick little mind wishes, but when you hurt my husband that threaten my kids, you signed a death contract with me. I walked over to my paper filled table and glared at the picture of Lila. In the picture, she wore her usual attire and had a smug look on her face.

This can't go on forever. Currently, I am hiding in the basement. It is disgusting and I am downright terrified of this place. Maxine and Mateo have no idea that I'm here. All they know is that I was on a three week long cruise. Hah! I wish.

Food was beginning to be scarce. All I have left was one banana and a bottle of water that looked as if it would only be a mouthful. Maxine and Mateo rarely leave the house and when they have school, I could only get as much food since I have to be hidden and avoid their suspicions rising.

The last time I showered was two days ago. They had a holiday off from school and adding to the weekend, I'm beginning to stink! I have to find a way to get out of this predicament. But how?

"Mateo! I'll be going to the supermarket. You what anything?" I head Maxine shout from above.

"No thanks, I'm good. By the way, have you heard from mom?"

Shit. I knew I forgot to do something!

"No, and I'm glad! All that bitch tells us from her travels is how handsome her guy is or how expensive the gifts he bought her. She's loving the lavish and high life using money that's not even hers! Including ours!"

The nerve of that girl! I knew I should've left her with that witch of a mother of hers. But I knew that my son would defend me.

"True."

What?! How could he?! I raised him! I carried him in me for 9 fucking months! And this is the attitude I get! He should be thankful I didn't think of using other means of getting rid of him as a baby.

But whatever! That poor excuse of a queen Marinette sent her kids somewhere else. And from what I gathered, she sent them to America in a prestigious boarding school. She probably did it to protect them. But I don't care. I will fight her. No one is to stand in my way!
