Chapter 5

Galatea's POV-

I sighed as I picked the glass up, without using my hands. That's another one of my powers. The ability to move objects with my mind. While I floated the shards of glass to my garbage, I started blowing the to their original places. Another ability of mine: weather. Well some types of weather. After all of my papers, books and everything else that was on the floor was put away I looked towards my now wide open window. I crawled through it, not caring about my dress, and ended up on the roof, over-looking the backyard and the woods beyond it. It looked so beautiful. The snow on the trees, glistening from the sun. I couldn't help but sit on the roof in the snow and stare at the beautiful nature around me.

"Galatea?!" My father's voice called.

Oh crap! I gasped and tried to get into my room before he did. I poked my upper body through my window and saw my father standing there, seriously angry.

"Get down from there and come down stairs. Meet me in my study at noon for your lessons." He said roughly and left.

I sighed and jumped back into my room. I ran into my closet, peeling the stupid dress off and put on a pair of jeans and a long sleeved shirt. I slipped on some boots and ran out of my room, heading for the kitchen. The head cook was in there, cooking my favorite breakfast food, french toast and bacon with orange juice. I sat down at the butcher block counter and she set a plate in front of me. I smiled and started eating. I looked at her and did the same thing I do every single morning.

"Good morning. Wonderful breakfast as always." I complimented, taking another bite.

She smiled, nodded and continued cooking. Today my father was having another party. Of course I didn't want to go. I'd rather stay in my room then go to one of my fathers' party's. When I was done eating, I walked through the kitchen and quickly past the glass door. I hated that door. It was the start to all of my nightmares. Before I got completely passed the door, something caught my attention. I froze and turned slowly so I was facing the glass door. That's when I saw it. In the white snow, staining it crimson red, was an animal. I screamed but covered my mouth to muffle the sound. The cook came dashing out of the kitchen and I shook my head.

"Sorry. Spider." I lied.

She slowly nodded and went back into the kitchen. I looked around and found that I was alone. I took a deep breath, opened the door and walked outside.

Kai's POV-

Everything was black. I could hear and feel but my eyes would not open. My paw was throbbing and my teeth hurt like mad. I could feel multiple wounds in my side and my tongue was sliced open. I could hear nothing but the chirping of birds. I felt like a huge weight was overcoming me. I fought it until I couldn't any longer and fell back into the darkness.

Galatea's POV-

I slowly tip-toed my way over to the animal. When I got within two feet of it, I stopped. He was breathing, which was a good sign. I carefully closed the distance between us and knelt on the ground next to it. I put my hand over his; I think it was a male; over his head and saw what happened. The Wolfsbane. I couldn't help the anger that entered my body. I hated the Wolfsbane. They took my brother a couple years ago and then let him go when the realized he wasn't the heir to the throne. They also took my best friend since birth.

"Kai," I whispered.

His paw twitched.

"Kai," I whispered again. Nothing.

"Come on Kai I'm going to help you." I whispered.

I reached forward and quickly pulled one of the darts out of his side. He growled.

"Good. You're awake." I answered.

He tilted his head to look at me.

"Hello Kai. I'm here to help. I'm going to take all of these darts out of your side and then you're going to have to shift for me."

His eyes widened and he shook his huge head.

"I don't trust you. Your kind." He said in my head.

I rolled my eyes.

"Fine. Don't trust me, us, but I'm still helping you. Now hold still or I'll hold you still myself."

He huffed but stopped moving. I quickly pullled out another dart and he whimpered. I sighed.

"Look, I'm going to numb the pain kind of okay?" I told him.

He nodded and I took a deep breath, knowing I was crazy for doing this. I closed my eyes and placed my hand on his chest, over his heart.

"What are you-"

"Shh." I cut his sentence off in my head.

I concentrated on his heart beat, matching mine with his. All of his emotions, thoughts, everything swept over me. I could feel every single one of his injuries. I looked at his face and saw him staring at me in curiousity.

"Talk to me while I do this. Distract me." I told him.

He barked once. I pulled out two more darts and could feel the pain.

"I didn't even feel that." He said in my head.

I didn't look down as I felt my own blood dripping from my stomach. I pulled three more darts out and then the last two. I closed my eyes, trying not to show how much pain I was in from his wounds which were now appearing on my stomach.

"Now what?"

"Now you need to shift. I can heal you better that way." I whispered, my voice quivering slightly.

I closed my eyes, trying to even my breaths.

"Hey are you okay? You...."

I opened my eyes and gasped quietly. Whoa. I couldn't help but stare at the person that stood in front of me. He was shirtless so I could see his tan skin. Six pack abs. Marble chest, which led to very broad shoulders. His face looked like a god sculpt it, his hair a brownish blonde, long, covering his eyes. A freezing breeze blew, making his hair move and I gasped.

His eyes.

I took a step back.

"Miss?" He whispered.

I swallowed and limped forward.

"Yeah?" I answered.

"You okay?" He repeated.

I slowly looked down and saw his eyes go to my stomach.

"Why......"

"I took them from you. I'll explain later. Right now you need to get inside."

He didn't answer so I limped over to him, and wrapped his arm around my shoulders. We both slowly limped to the door, entering the castle.
