Chapter 10

Galatea's POV-

I woke up to the sound of birds chirping and the sound of light snoring. I smiled and opened my eyes. I turned around in Kai's arms and looked at his peaceful face. I giggled quietly at the small smile on his face as he slept. A snore escaped his lips and I bit my lip so I wouldn't laugh. I slowly unwrapped his arm from around my waist and got up carefully. I walked to the window which had been replaced last night when Kai and I were downstairs. I opened it and walked out onto the roof, looking around at everything. There was a new blanket of snow covering the ground, making the trees sparkle from the sun reflecting off of the branches which were blanketed with snow.

"Hey what are you doing out there Tea?" Kai's voice mumbled.

I looked over my shoulder and saw him standing in the window. I smiled.

"Come out here and I'll show you." I answered.

He stared at me for a moment and stepped out onto the roof. When I saw him sit next to me, I looked back out at my backyard and pointed at it.

"This is why I'm out here." I whispered.

He looked and gasped quietly.

"Wow...." He whispered.

"It's beautiful right?" I whispered.

He nodded. I looked at everything.

"I come out here to think and to just escape from everything." I whispered.

"Everything?" He repeated.

I nodded.

"Yeah....like my father. He makes me dress in those ridiculous clothes and go to my stupid lessons. He acts like I'm stupid and can't think for myself. It's so dumb." I said.

He nodded.

"My father used to make me go to lessons like that until one day I told him that I couldn't do it anymore. That his lessons weren't preparing me for when I become Alpha. So he stopped planning them and I never asked about them." He said with a shrug.

I sighed.

"See my father isn't like that. I can't just go up to him and say that or he'd double my lessons and ground me for life. He wants me to be ready to take the throne when he and my mother step down." I said.

He stared at me.

"How come your brother isn't taking the throne?" He asked.

I shrugged.

"Something about blood and the prophecy on my ceiling." I answered with a shrug.

"You mean the one that I can only read half of?" He asked.

I stared at him.

"What? You can read it?" I asked.

He nodded.

"Yeah but only parts of it because the other part is in witch speak while the other is in were speak."

I was about to ask what it said when there was a knock on my door.
