Chapter 17

I stood there in his arms and just.....stared at his face. Searching his eyes. I sighed and pulled away, taking a step back.

"Kai what if...after all of this...what if everything changes?" I whispered.

His arms fell to his side and then he took a step towards me.

"Nothing's going to change. You're my mate and that will never change. My feelings for you will never change." He whispered, his face inches from mine.

"Your feelings?" I whispered.

He nodded, his gaze intense.

"My feelings for you are....very strong. And no parents of yours will ever change that. No war, nothing. I will always feel the same way for you no matter what." He whispered.

I swallowed hard and smiled.

"Yeah but what if I accept you and then after the prophecy is fulfilled my parents make me get married to someone else?" I asked.

He smirked at me.

"Well it looks like we do have ourselves a problem." He said as he backed away and started pacing the room.

That smirk was still attached to his face... I rolled my eyes and suddenly Kai and I were to chest to chest, his arms wrapped around my hips.

"There are two solutions. One, you can beat your parents to the punch and marry before the prophecy ends."

I looked at him skeptically. That won't happen.

"Or, you could just never go back." He said with a shrug.

I stared at him for a moment.

"I can't not go back Kai. Those are my people." I said.

He sighed.

"I know... It was just an idea though."

I sighed and shook my head.

"Just don't reject me." He whispered.

I looked into his eyes and saw the fear in his eyes of the thought of rejection. My breathing sped up when I realized that Kai's future lies in my hands...

"Do you have another mate out there?" I asked quietly.

He shook his head.

"You reject me and I'm forever alone." He whispered.

I frowned and bit my lip. Oh what the hell right? I mean...this is a once in a life time thing! A witch and a werewolf as mates?

"Kai." I whispered.

He looked up and into my eyes.

"I accept you as my mate." I whispered.

His eyes started changing colors and he cupped my face in his hands. He leaned in, my heart crashing against my rib cage so loud he probably heard it.

"Hold still." He whispered.

I froze as he leaned towards the right side of my neck. My eyes flitted down to his teeth and I saw his canines grow. Fear entered my body as I prepared for the pain.... I felt his breath blow against my neck and shivered. My eyes widened as I felt his lips touch my neck....then his teeth sank into my skin. I gasped and felt like I was floating. I could feel a burning sensation going through my veins. I bit my lip so I wouldn't scream. Suddenly I felt something warm trickle down my neck. I felt Kai's hot tongue run up my neck all the way up to where he bit me. He slowly pulled back and I felt like I was in a trance.
