Storyline: Stefan was trapped in a coffin underwater and when Elena opened it, he was disappointed that it wasn't you.

"Stefan, please!" You rush into the living room behind him. "I'm sorry! I just- I just didn't know where to look."
He stops in his tracks and turns around to face you. "Didn't know where to look?
Y/N, we've known each other for years, centuries even! You should've known my fear!"
You snort, "I knew your fear, how was I supposed to know that ever since Elena drowned, your new fear was drowning?"
He says nothing. "Look, I have been trying to find you, hell, I even went to Liv! And, you know how I hate her head. I don't know how it feels to drown, alright? All I know is that you're here, and safe."
Stefan's forehead creases, then he relaxes and closes his eyes. "I wanted it to be you. I wanted it to be your face that I see when the water would flow out of my lungs. You were the only thing that was keeping me alive, and I hoped, that it would be you. I just really wanted it to be you," he opens his eyes.
You take his hand, "Stefan, I'm sorry. But, hey- I'm here now, and I won't leave you, ever. Not in a million years anyway," you try to light up the mood a little and it worked. "Come on, I know you want to smile jerk face," you tease.
He gave in.
"Oh shut up, creepy face." You two laugh and hug it out.
