For so long he suffered.

For so long he searched seeking vengeance and finally, there he was.

The boy he had been hunting wasn’t very different from him.

Shifting in the shadows in his long black coat, he stepped nearer to where the boy was.

Before his sinister figure stood what looked like a sort of old and vacant French Café.

He walked, still in the shadows, past two people trying to unlock the main entrance so silently as though he was nothing more than a mere disturbed haunting spirit.

He then sensed it again, a strange electric jolt he felt several times before. The first time, his instincts led him to the mall, the second led him to a suburban neighborhood, and now it has led him to this café.

He sensed the boy using his powers again, and a bang came from behind the building as a sealed door lurched open and an “Employees Only” sign shattered on the opposite side of the alleyway.

He began to walk hurriedly and a sly smile formed at the corner of his lips. He knew he had gotten him. There wasn’t a way out of this one.

Suddenly, something shocking had him stop dead in his tracks.

It was a striking voice he heard in his head… No- not his head. But the boy’s head.

He was accompanied by another. Another like them.

Adrenaline altered his hurried walk into a sprint.

There were two!

He took a left and dived into the alleyway and set his eyes on his target. In the boy’s company was a girl, they were both racing to the opposite direction of the alley.

He knew they hadn’t spotted him, he had deep trust in his skill; however, he couldn’t help but wonder why they were running.

He raised both his hands and threw things in their way, garbage cans, empty boxes, and crumpled up paper – anything he can find. He watched as the girl swiftly jumped over the obstacles and the boy dodged and simply wielded everything away.

The ominous person closed his eyes and sent them a wave of energy that he hoped would leave an effect as he hasn’t done this before. The boy seemed to stagger, but the unharmed girl tugged his hand and they kept on running; though, she looked back and for the first time the prey had perceived the predator. Her eyes quickly shifted away not acknowledging him as a threat, which only pushed him further.

He summoned every living creature he could set his eyes on. Stray cats and dogs, confused pigeons, rats and mice, even insects began making their way to the runaways trying to catch up. But as they got farther away, the creatures began to return to their typical ways and his powers began to drain. He tried catching up himself, but he knew he couldn’t.

He looked down in dismay. The boy he was going to kill got away once again as his hazy vision had interpreted – except this time he wasn’t alone.

He glanced malevolently at the broken side entrance now very near, turned back and left the vicinity.
