millie kept her hand on mine for a while.
we sat in silence and i waited for millie to give me the signal to start driving.
but that never came.

"mills, we have to go if we want to make it to the party." i whispered.

she nodded and released my hand.

i stepped on the gas and started driving.
the whole ride she just looked out the window. like something was bothering her.

we arrived at the party a little late.
when we walked in the door no one was to be seen.

"are we at the wrong house?" i began to asked millie but loud shouting interrupted me.

"surprise!" everyone from the cast jumped out from their hiding places causing me and millie to jump.

"since your birthday is in a few weeks we thought we would celebrate early." caleb said.

"oh haha, very clever." i said with a chuckle.

gatem, noah, and sadie all greeted me.

a few minutes later sadie pulled me aside.

"you drove millie here?" she said in a suspicious tone.

"um, yeah--," i dragged.

"okay finn, you need to tell me if you have feelings for her."

"sadie, your the one i love and besides her car broke down, it was the least i could do."

sadie turned around and walked away.
i felt a small hand tap my shoulder.

"noah? hi," i said turning around

"hey dude, what was that all about?" he asked taking a drink from his solo cup

"she thinks i like millie more than her," i paused "and before you jump to conclusions, i don't like millie like that.. ew."

noah raised his eyebrows and walked off.
i lied, i did like millie more than sadie but if i hurt sadie, i would lose noah as a friend.

i walked into the kitchen where gaten sat trying to impress girls.
i grabbed a solo cup and filled it with soda.

"yo dude." gaten said standing up

"hey, how's it going over there,"

"good, great, i have a date next friday."

"good job." i laughed as he walked away

i saw millie and sadie talking but i couldn't make out what they were saying.
then suddenly they both looked at me.
i turned my head quickly and started to walk away until i heard millie's voice.

"finn! come here!" she practically shouted

i turned around a slowly walked back to where they were standing.

"hey sadie," i smiled

"hi finn," she said
