at first it felt like i couldn't breathe, let alone talk.
but when millie shook me, i could breathe again.

"you remember?" i asked

"yes, finn, i do." her lips curved into a smile

"i'm so glad you're okay," i continued "i have so many things to tell you."

peter walked in, demanding that millie had to come with him.

"no," was all she said

his face grew more red as he took a step closer.

"do i have to remind you what i'd do to the boy," he flung out a switchblade and pointed it towards me

millie looked at me, then back at him, "okay, okay!"

she released my hand and walked towards the door.
before leaving she looked back at me, "i- i love you too."

---

i laid in bed, picking at the guaze wrapped around my arm.
millie had been gone for three days now.
i went looking for her the day she left but i found nothing.

all i knew was that millie and i were meant to be together.

i sat up and swung my legs over the bed.
susan, checked on me every hour to see how i was doing.
but to be honest, i was awful.
the fact that millie could be hurt or worse made me sick to my stomach.

and now that i know she loves me back, for real this time.
nothing is going to stop me when i try to find her.

---

i walked through an empty ally behind the hospital, looking for any type of clue.
but there was none.

it had been two weeks now, and i had beaten up four guys that looked like peter.
my mind was starting to hallucinate.
i would see her at the coffee shop or even the downtown subway.
but she was never actually there.

i kept walking, splashing puddles as i stepped on them.
the ally was quiet until a boy ran out from the corner screaming.

"somebody help!" he yelled

i ran up to him, "hey, hey, calm down, what happened?"

he pulled out a photo and studied it then looked up at me.

"your him," he said coldly

"i'm him?"

"yeah, listen i don't have enough time, but i'm here to deliver a message— from unknown," he gulped "he said that he has millie, and uh, wants you to meet him at the corner of pike and lowe,"

"that's it?"

"tonight, and go alone."

before i could ask him why or how he knew this information, i heard a loud gunshot and warm blood spattered on my face.
i quickly dove behind a nearby dumpster and hid.

"he was boring anyways! come on out!" a voice yelled

"who are you?" i asked
