just survive somehow- enid

ALICIA

Trembling, looking at the rocky ground was all I could do after seeing my brother shoved harshly to the ground, not looking good, not at all. Taking a glance towards him, as he catches my look giving me a pathetic smile, trying not to show any pain. Even with his weak attempts of trying to reassure me, I couldn't help but to not feel at ease.

Seeing Rick hopeless, knowing he screwed up; hell we all did. We all knew that at some point our luck would run out. And now it had.

We had no way out of the mess that we created ourselves, if only we; all of us hadn't been so greedy. The world that the survivors are living in, shaped the people into monsters. Now we had to face one bigger than us. Everyone was scared shitless, — but then again we created the mess that we're in ourselves. If only we had left the outpost alone.

"Let's meet the man!" The guy, knocking to something as the RV door opened. I could feel the air thickening, as everyone held their breath. The atmosphere had changed, and for a good reason too. The man behind all of this, had this sinister demeanor, an aura even; that surrounded him. And I could feel it without even lifting my head, looking up at him.

I didn't know if I even wanted to look up to meet his gaze.

"Pissing our pants yet?" A rough voice could be heard, as it echoed through out the whole forest glade. At least that's what it felt like. "It's gonna be pee-pee pants city here real soon."

Swallowing the lump in my throat, still keeping my eyes locked on that pebble of sand as I try to steady my unshakeable breathing. The feeling of panic and the thought of losing my brother, was slowly pulling the tiniest bits of sanity that I had left in me.

'We're going to fucking die' , I thought.

"Which one of you pricks is the leader?" He asked. I could feel his eyes trailing from another end to another. But as his eyes landed on me, I could feel my breathing starting to lack in steadiness. At this point, it felt like at any second my heart would burst out of my chest, due to the panic. Not once in my life had I felt this amount of fear — no, it was more of a terror and horror.

"It's this guy! He's the one." I turned to my right seeing a savior pointing to Rick, who looked lost, and at a loss of words. What had felt like hours, when in reality —only minutes I lifted my eyes to look at the man in charge.

As he towered all of us with his height, I couldn't help but to look at his hand. In his hand he held a baseball bat. It had been wrapped in barbed wire, that looked fragile but yet so serrated. The wood had been stained with a tint of dark maroon. It wouldn't be the first nor the last time that the man would use his weapon to brutally murder someone. I can't think of a worse way to die.

"Hi, you're Rick right? I'm Negan. And I do not appreciate you killing my men."

'Negan', I voiced out in my head.

Negan stood up, pointing his baseball bat towards Rick. "Also when I sent my people to kill your people you killed more of my people." He sighed, shaking his head. "Not cool, not cool. But I think you're gonna be up to speed shortly."

Tearing my eyes from Negan I expected something from Rick, but no words came out of his mouth, not any of us making a sound. The hollowness of the woods didn't help the situation. No one knew what to do, neither to say.
