I looked in the mirror at the suit (Y/N) had brought home for me. I was surprised by how well it fit and the lack of stains, tears, or wrinkles it had. I was anxious for my date with Samantha, but not really for the actual date part. (Y/N) walked into my room, a slim tie in her hands along with cuff links. It took me a moment to realize that they were the ones she showed me a few months ago.

"I don't know what to say, Mathew! He gave them to me, and I'm going to keep them!"

"You don't even use cuff links, (Y/N)!"

"Well, obviously he felt I deserved them more than you! He probably assumed you would sell them to get a fix on your drug addiction! And I would have agreed with him. That's all you ever care about anyways."

Mathew shoved (Y/N) against a wall and I intervened by pulling him away from her. I stood between the two of them and felt her hand grip my sleeve. Mathew huffed and rolled his eyes. "That's just like you, (Y/N). Always waiting for a man to save you. I can't believe dad gave you the family cuff links. He deserved to die."

With that, Mathew stormed out and (Y/N) walked towards the coffin that held her father's body. "I don't know why, but I'll respect your decision the whole way, daddy." Tears pricked behind her eyes as she closed the coffin and sprinkled salt over it. The two of us stood there in the darkness, her father's flames were our only source of light. She had asked me to come along with her, but I wasn't sure why. I looked over to ask her, but I stopped. The glow from the flames reflected in her (Y/E/C) eyes and made her hair ten times shinier. My jaw dropped slightly as I looked at how gorgeous she was, even in her simple, black dress. "Castiel?" her voice broke my thoughts and she was staring at me, confused.

"Yes, (Y/N)?"

"Thank you for being here. For watching out for me."

"Always."

"(Y/N), I can't take those from you. Those were-"

"Exactly. They were his good luck charm when it came to women. He wore these when he went on he and my mom's first date, and when he proposed to her, and on their wedding night. Hell, he even wore these to both mine and Mathew's births. So please, take them. I think Samantha will love them on you."

"I know I would..."

The voice was so clear, and I looked at (Y/N) confused. She smiled at me while she swung the tie around my neck and started adjusting the size. She must have notice me staring at her because she looked up and smiled again. Her smile was heart warming, and I couldn't understand how a human could make me melt so easily. Of all my father's creations, she was one of the most beautiful, amazing, smart, and bad-ass of them all.

"Cassie?! Are you listening to me?"

"I'm sorry, I was distracted..." my head dropped to look at the full suit, tie and cuff links included.

"I was telling you to treat this girl with respect. She's very nice and she's really interested in you." Her nimble fingers started to run through my hair, pushing it over one direction while moving it upwards as well. "And Cas?"

"Yes, (Y/N)?" Her eyes were looking up at me and her smile faded just slightly.

"Don't tell her that you're an angel, okay?"

"Of course not, (Y/N)! That would be dangerous and I can't risk revealing myself to anyone outside of our family."

Family... that's all...

There was the voice again, and (Y/N) looked away from me before handing me a CD and a pack of condoms. "Just in case you need them. This music is much more romantic than what Dean has in the Impala, and you always need protection." Her smile came back and I felt awful for going on this date. She set it up between Samantha and I, but my heart was glued to her. My dreams, my thoughts, my fantasies, everything that went through my mind went straight to her. But I was too weak to tell her. "What's wrong, Cassie?"

"Just nervous about the date, I assume. This vessel has a weak heart when it comes to romance."

"Don't worry, Cas. There's no girl that wouldn't go crazy for you."

I felt an odd feeling radiating from (Y/N), and I was confused. The feeling faded quickly though and I simply dismissed it.

This is so stupid... I've got to do it now before I hate myself forever...

"(Y/N), are you ok-"

I was cut off by (Y/N) pulling at my tie, so our faces were level, and she pressed her lips against mine. I reached up and cupped her cheek before I pulled her closer to me. I needed more of her. Her lips were soft and she smelled sweeter than honey. When she pulled back, it took me a few moments to relax enough to open my eyes and see her.

"I'm sorry, Cas. You're going to be late..."

"I don't care."

I pressed her back to me and kissed her hungrily. One hand rested behind her neck and the other was around her waist. I lifted her up lightly as I pulled my lips away and hugged her to me. I spun around, holding her against my chest. "You're the only girl I really care about, (Y/N). I can't explain it, but I feel myself get weak in your presence and I never want to be away from you. I think of you constantly. The only reason I agreed to this date with Samantha was because you seemed so excited and I didn't want to disappoint you by saying no. I'm sorry that I took so long to say these things, and I hope that you feel the same way."

"Castiel. I love you." She kissed me again while sending a text to Samantha telling her that we would need to rain-check the date. Once it was sent, I took the phone and threw it to the ground while I kissed her once more.

"I will always love you, (Y/N)."

She smiled and I couldn't help but smile with her. "You know, you look so nice, I think it would be a shame if you didn't do something special."

"Well, I still have the reservations. Would you like to accompany me?"

"Of course, Cas. Just let me change."

I smiled as she walked out of my room and I couldn't help but chuckle lightly as I realized how lucky I was to have her with me.
