Wooh! My last chapter was the longest yet! 4 pages though :( I plan on making longer chapters now, but only on the really important bits of the plot ;D other than that, they'll be their usual length of about 2 pages. Okay, bye!

*Zayden's P.O.V.*

I sat in the office, barely managing to control my anger. I had to go and do something! He was going to hurt her, most likely kill her. I could see it in his eyes, the smug smirks he pulled at me when she wasn't looking.

And the fact he was a vampyre kind of made it obvious, too.

I didn't look up at the sound of the door opening and closing softly. I had heard him walking down the corridor, anyway.

The principal sighed as he lowered himself into the chair behind the freakishly tidy desk, opposite me.

"Mr. Greene," He began wearily, "I hear you've been getting into fights again."

I sighed impatiently. Why did everyone think it was my fault? "Sir, I--"

He held a hand up. "Save it."

I slumped back in my seat, still glowering.

"You know the rules, Zayden. Fighting on school premises is unacceptable. Especially seeing as Mr. Brisbane didn't do anything to you. From what I heard, you started it. Is that correct?"

I gritted my teeth. "Technically, yes, Sir, but I was provoked."

He raised an eyebrow, "Were you?" His tone was patronizing.

I nodded, still gripping the edge of my seat. I could feel the wood begin to buckle under my fingers, so I stopped.

"Now, I need to come up with a suitable punishment..." He murmured, leaning back in his chair and steepled his fingers, still looking at me with disdain.

I clenched my jaw. Adira was with Dan, alone, and she could be dead by now. And here I was, still sitting here, wasting time."This is such bullshit!" I muttered quietly, under my breath. Obviously not quiet enough as the principal sat up in his chair and glared at me. "What did you just say, Mr. Greene?" His voice was icy.

"I said," I leaned forward in my chair, unsmiling, "That this is such bullshit."

"I will not stand for that language in my office, do you understand?" He was trying to be patient, but failing.

I sighed impatiently, and began to get up, "Whatever. I have somewhere to be, and I know you just want me gone. So let's say--"

"Let's say, Mr. Greene," The principal was having a hard time keeping his composure, "That you stay sitting here while I call your parents and think of what to do with you."

"My parents are dead."

He looked stricken. Taking advantage of his surprise, I jumped up and made my way over to the door.

"Zayden!" He thundered, "Get back here!"

I stayed where I was, and looked up at him. I stared him in the eye, which usually unnerved people.

Except Adira.

"Let's make a compromise," I said, pretending to be bored, "You let me go without a word to anyone, and then I won't tell everyone about your...drinking problem." I had seen the small metal flask in his pocket, smelt the alcohol on his breath, and could smell in in his blood. From my estimate his liver was around seventy years old, "Deal?"
