Once again there's A LOT of music in this chapter so be prepared. And also, you're fucking welcome because music of the 90s is the shit. I mean Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch might be a little questionable, but it's iconic so- here's the chapter.

----------------------------

As the four walked in to the hotel ball room, where the Prom was being held, they stopped to look around at their fellow classmates. Creep was blasting through the speakers, and everyone was dancing.

"God, I love this song!" Cassie exclaimed, gripping Collin's arm a little tighter.

"Do you want to dance?" He asked her.

"Hell, yeah." She exclaimed, pulling him to the dance floor. James followed the two, as they moved from the spot next to him, to the dance floor.

"I really like this song too." Jasmine stated.

"Yeah, me too." James responded, seeming clearly distracted.

"So- do you want to dance?" She asked.

"You know, I can't dance." He told her. She frowned. "Let's go find a table."

"Okay." James and Jasmine made their way to an empty table, and took a seat. James searched the crowd of dancers, looking for one in particular. His eyes landed upon her, and he noticed that she wasn't really dancing with her so-called 'Date'. He was standing near her, as she danced with a few girls, that were on the cheerleading squad with her. She was clearly having fun, as she moved to the beat.

Cassie was always thought of as the triple threat of Palo Alto. She could sing, act, and even dance. She was a natural born performer, and everyone knew it. James considered himself lucky to be as close as he was to her.

"The decorations look great, yeah?" Jasmine asked, attempting to make conversation. He had completely forgotten about the girl sitting next to him. He snapped out of his thoughts, before responding.

"What?" He asked.

"The decorations. It was so hard to get it all together, but I think I pulled it off." She boasted, with a smile.

"Yeah- it looks great." James told her, although he hadn't even began to care about the decor.

"Jas, there's a mega- emergency, with the band. We need you, now." Amber, one of Jasmines best friends, rushed.

"I'll be right back." Jasmine told James, before getting up, and running off. James was extremely relieved to be rid of her. At least for now.

He looked back over to Cassie, as she continued to dance. Collin stopped her, to whisper in her ear, before walking away. She resumed her dancing, until she looked over in Jameses direction. She once again put a pause on her dancing to wave him over. He shook his head no, causing her to roll her eyes. James had developed a James Dean "too cool for school", act over the years, and now Cassie found herself always pulling him out of it. And when he was out of it, he had fun. She danced over to him.

"Come on, James. Get off your ass, and dance with me." She danced, while reaching out to grab his arm. The boy stayed seated in his chair, laughing as he watched the brunette girl move awkwardly in front of him.
