Anne isn't the 'average' black girl, she's quite shy. Some would describe her as having social anxiety. She hates talking to strangers, they scare her. She'd rather stay to herself. Not that she likes being alone, she's just too awkward to go out. But, Anne has her eyes on someone she knows she can't have. Will that stop her from dreaming ? No. But what Anne doesn't know is they've been sneaking glances at her as well.
Jackson is what you'd call 'popular'. Not for any particular accomplishments besides having a nice ....everything. But he's lonely. Even with the whole cheer team (and a few football players) after him. It doesn't fill the gap. But he has eyes on someone who will. And he's making it his mission to get her.
