After a few minutes the group started running after Simon and Raphael with Afina in the front

"I swear if that kid ruins one more jacket" Raphael said looking at his now ripped jacket as Afina ran up to him

"Where is he?" Clary asked

"He'll be back" Raphael said looking in the direction that Simon ran

"You let him go? You said you'd look after him" Jace said

"I can't do that until he's ready" Raphael explained

"What does that even mean?" Clary asked

"It means he goes where everyone goes when this happens, his own personal hell" Raphael said

"I did this, I put him there" Clary said looking at Jace

"If it helps he doesn't even remember it was you, his first minutes a complete blank" Raphael said

"But I have to tell him the truth" Clary said

"No you don't Clary. I know I don't like you but he's my brother and he's your best friend I haven't know him for long but you've known him for years and if he was mad at me I'd be crushed let alone imagine if he was mad at you" Afina explained to the red head

"Afina's right, eventually he will be walking proof that Camille broke the accords" Raphael said

"Ok stop it! I don't care about your vampire politics. We have to find Simon" Clary said

"We will" Jace reassured

"He's out there, cold, scared hungry" Clary said imagining the worst

"Give me a call when he turns up" Raphael started grabbing a hold of Afina's hand "you need my help" with that he started walking away with Afina

"We've had just about enough of your help. And leave Afina she's not safe with you" Jace demanded and Raphael stopped still holding her hand

"I'm safer with him then with you Jace, if it came down to it and you had to save me or Clary you would save her don't try and deny it. I'm staying with Raphael" Afina said looking at him before her and Raphael continued to walk away

Raphael and Afina walked in silence to the hotel before they reached the back door "most of the vampires are out right now so come on" he said sneaking Afina into his room like a teenager sneaking someone into his parents house

When they got to his room Afina sat on his bed while Raphael took off his ripped jacket and put a new one on "thank you for what you did" Afina said making Raphael stop

"I didn't do anything I probably made things worse for everyone" Raphael said looking at his hands

Afina stood up and walked over to Raphael moving his head so he was looking at her "you didn't do anything to make things worse, ok?" Afina said before she leaned in and kissed him

It took Raphael by surprise before he kissed her back his hand firm on her waist as Afina's hands wrapped around his neck as he pulled her closer

They broke the kiss to catch there breath with smiles on there faces

"So, you were telling me how you felt about me earlier?" Afina asked making Raphael chuckle

"Ya I was" he said

"So how do you feel about me?" She asked

"I like you, a lot. I like you so much that I feel like I can't live without you. I haven't felt like this in a long time. And I think I love you and I know that it sounds cheesy or whatever but when I first saw you I knew I would love you, and I know you probably don't love me back but-" Raphael rambled before Afina cut him off by kissing him
