decisions, decisions

I have spent a lifetime putting others above me;
The one time I did not weighs enough.

These drones that surround me control their steps -
Do they feel the way I do?
What must these strangers' stories be?

Heartbreak feels like a thousand paper cuts:
Perhaps you don't notice, but I do.
(They're all at once, breaking my skin.)
Hasn't the world wasted enough trees?

My shoulders weep as a tonne presses them down.
