Kevin woke up in a cold sweat. He just dreamed of when he had saved Double D. It still makes him sick when he thinks about how twisted that bastard R.B was. It took nearly three months for Double D to get back in the pool at school. The scars a constant reminder of that horrible day. Kevin tried to comfort and be there for Double D but he never been in a situation like that before. He didn't know what to say or do to help Double D and whenever he tried to talk to him about it Double D would completely shut down.
"I have to try to get my dork back. I should've never let him go in the first place." Kevin got dressed, put on his shoes and walked down the stairs. He quietly opened the door so he wouldn't wake his father. He wasn't in the mood to deal with him at the moment. He was on a mission and he'll be damned if he'll let that bastard stop him.
Kevin paused on the last step of Double D's porch.bhe didn't know what he'll say if he answered the door. Kevin decided to just wing it and rang the doorbell. What felt like an hour passed before he heard Double D's voice. Just the sound of it gave Kevin butterflies.
Double D opened the door and Kevin could only stare. Double D's jet black hair was wet and showing! Kevin only saw his hair once and that was by accident. Kevin looked into Double D's icy blue eyes and felt his heart break a little.
'He's been crying.' Kevin thought to himself. 'I really hurt his feelings.'
"Oh, hello Kevin. Is there something I can assist you with??" The butterflies came back and Kevin felt his cheeks get hot.
"I, uh, can we talk? I wanna talk about, uh, what happened." Kevin rubbed the back of his neck, an old habit he thought he had grew out of when they started dating. Kevin waited nervously for Double D to reply. He glanced at Double D and saw fresh tears in his bright blue eyes. Immediately he went and pulled the dork into a hug. He rubbed his back and tried to get Double D calm enough to stop crying.
"Shh... It's ok Double D. I'm here for you."
Double D just stood there in Kevin's arms and cried. He couldn't talk as the tears kept falling. A year worth of tears fell from Double D's glossy blue eyes in just minutes. He was tired of trying to he strong but he felt weak crying in front of Kevin. 'Kevin?!' Double D pushed away from him as he realized that the same person who called him a faggot just hours ago was standing in his doorway hugging him.
