Disadvantage

Unsheathing your daggers, you combined them into your queen's weapon and welcomed the familiar purple glow of the sword. You felt the life of the marvelous weapon course through your hands, giving you a boost of confidence in your battle, which was about to begin. Still, your mind couldn't push aside the distinct sound of metal clashing behind you. Biting your bottom lip, you had to use every ounce of your willpower to not look behind you; you needed to focus on Oriana. Granted, that wasn't an easy task due to the fact that you couldn't directly look at her.

Thus, you focused your attention on her hand and arm movement for the moment. She pushed herself up and off her chair before taking a few steps forward. You could hear the distinct sound of heels clicking against the tiled platform. Next, she lifted her sword-cane up some before removing the sheath with her right hand. Tossing the item away, she slashed the blade through the air, allowing the light to reflect off of it. Like you, though, she had a disadvantage. Based off the information she told you, she no longer was a queen. In fact you knew this to be true, since her daughter, Yussia, had taken up the position for a time. Meaning the weapon in her hand was no longer a queen's weapon. Thankfully, it was now just a regular sword-cane.

Still, you kept your guard up. Underestimating your opponent, when the brothers were counting on you stopping her, would be a fatal mistake. Thus, you increased your grip on the dual-bladed sword and put yourself in a defensive position. As for Oriana, she took slow steps down the platform's stairs, as she dragged her blade down with her. You kept your gaze on her weapon before you noticed her legs stop moving. In the next moment, this took an opposite turn. She bolted towards you and raised her weapon.

Waiting for the perfect moment, you turned on your right heel and dodged her attack. She, however, wasn't finished. Since her blade missed, she brought up her left leg, as a small knife poked out of her shoe. Bringing up your weapon, you blocked the sneak attack and jumped back some. In the process of doing this, you caught sight of the brothers' fight. You could barely see them in motion, as they vanished and reappeared in quick succession. It was almost frightening to see them engaged in such an equal fight. What was even more disturbing was the fact that neither expressed any blood lust in their eyes. In place of the emotion, they both wore sorrowful countenances. Neither wanted to continue, yet they didn't have a choice. Diamond would kill Heart if the blue-haired male didn't fight back.

You couldn't pay any more attention to them, as Oriana came at you again. Blocking her slash just in time, you utilized her force against her. Pushing her back with equal strength, you made a quick slash with your weapon, but she jumped to the side in response. Having missed her, you went in for another attack, but she surprised you by dropping to the ground. She rolled across the ground, as you zoomed past her. Getting back onto her feet, she went for another slash, but this time from behind you. Spinning around swiftly, you stopped her attack and brought your left foot up. In response to this move, she grabbed your left ankle with her right hand and caused you to lose your balance. Falling backwards onto the tile, you impacted the floor hard, but just before she could pierce you with the blade, you rolled out of the way to your left. Luckily, your head hadn't hit the tile, but your back didn't have the same luck. Pain coursed through it, but you would have to deal with it for now.

Before you could get back onto your feet, you only made it onto your knees, as you had to block another one of her attacks. She took advantage of your position, though, and continued to slash her weapon at you, since you couldn't move back too much. With each hit the power grew behind it until you were leaning back some. Knowing that she wasn't going to let up anytime soon, you let yourself fall onto your back, and you kicked your legs out. Granted, this sent another wave of agony through your back, but you bit your bottom lip and rejoiced in the fact that you just knocked the woman off her feet.

Not permitting her to fall onto you, you rolled to your left once more and finally got onto your feet. Sparing no time, you lifted your weapon and brought it down on her. She quickly rolled onto her back and blocked your attack before pushing your blade off of hers. Using this small window of opportunity, she turned her gaze onto you. Witnessing this, you had no choice but to look away. Sadly, you gave her an advantage by performing this move. In that frame of time, she lifted herself onto her feet and thrust her blade at you. Having almost no time to react, you tried to block it, but you ended up only deflecting it a little. Thus, the sword lodged itself in your left shoulder, which had healed only a short time ago from the other wound.

Your breath caught in your throat, as a silent scream escaped your lips. The pain was near to unbearable, but you refused to give up. Proceeding to hold your sword in just your left hand, you brought up your right hand and gripped her left wrist. Thus, when she attempted to remove the sword and move back from you, she couldn't. Instead, you positioned your sword properly in your hand and thrust it forward, aiming for her midsection. In a split second, she spun and moved to your right; you refused to let go of her wrist, though. Keeping this in mind, the speed of her turn saved her midsection but not her wrist.

A loud snapping sound resonated throughout the area, as a scream exited her mouth. With her good arm weakened considerably, she lifted her right arm and brought it down on your right. This impact was just enough to loosen your hold to the point where she could get away from you. Moreover, it pressed the blade down a little, which didn't help you in the slightest. Still, she had lost her sword in the process. Drawing it from out of your left shoulder, you felt tears threaten to escape your eyes. Once it was out, you tossed it into the air and timed your attack accordingly. Your queen's weapon fell down on the blade. The collisions between the two weapons caused the sword-cane to shatter into small fragments. Her weapon was no more.

"It's time to give up, Oriana," you called out, still not making eye contact with her. "Now, release Diamond!"

"It's nowhere near over, ace," she replied coldly, as she clutched her left wrist with her right hand. "You've only destroyed the first of my weapons," she added before grabbing the bottom of her dress skirt.

Tearing at the crème colored fabric; she ripped the part of the skirt off, which shortened the dress to reach to her mid-thigh. This act revealed an arsenal of throwing knives strapped to each of her thighs. Taking out four of them and positioning them in her right hand, she raised them up before throwing them at you. Thus, you took your blade and began to spin it in your hands, deflecting all of the knives.

Quite displeased by your defensive move, she took out another one and ran at you. She went to make a slashing motion, but at the last moment threw it at you. Not expecting this, you swiftly deflected it, but found her left foot coming up towards. The blade stuck out at the end of the shoe, and you leaned back, barely missing the blade. Still, she wasn't finished. Rather, she took out another knife and went to stab you in the right side. When she saw you about to block the move effectively, she changed her direction quickly and jabbed the blade into your right arm; however, she took damage herself. Your blade glided across the surface of her midsection, inflicting not a fatal wound, but a cut big enough to cause her to take a few steps back and cry out in pain.

During this time, though, the brothers weren't having an easy time either. Each deflected the other's attack perfectly. If one were to view their fight, they would think they were watching a ballad of skill and grace. Both participants danced in seemingly flawless movements, but neither wore an expression of enjoyment. One was out for blood without their consent, while the other was just trying to protect them both. A grim expression decorated both of their countenances, as metal clashed against metal. Blades glinted under the light in the room, making the figures appear to be mere flashes of illumination due to their disappearances and appearances.

They ended up landing on opposite sides of the room after the previous blows. Crimson drops fell down the blades and onto the onyx tiles. Red descended from below the left eye and down the left cheek, complimenting the soft red locks belonging to the King of Diamonds. Furthermore, droplets of blood began to run down the left cheek of the King of Hearts, as a pained smiled crossed his lips.

"It seems like you got me, brother. You know red isn't my color," the blue-haired king commented, as the red only painted his face more.

"I thought you might like to try it, though," the red-haired king responded, bearing a smile identical to his brother's.

"Well, now, we know it doesn't work," the blue heart added, a bitter laugh leaving his lips.

"Then forgive me for trying to make more cover you," the red diamond replied before dashing towards his twin.

Heart prepared himself for the attack, analyzing his brother's speed and waiting for the right time to counter the attack. Finding it, he blocked the move by his brother and disappeared. Upon reappearing, he was met by his red-haired twin. He went to deflect the next attack as well, but his brother switched the blade to his other hand, catching him off guard. Thus, Diamond knocked the blade from Heart's hands. In an instant, Heart vanished and transported himself to the other side of the room. Diamond appeared only a few feet from him, now holding his brother's blade as well. Before Heart could summon his blade back to his hands and transport himself again, Diamond threw Heart's blade at him. It pierced his right thigh, sending him to the floor in an instant, and this small delay was enough for Diamond to appear right in front of his brother.

"I'm so sorry, my little brother."
