They sat there in the observation room, around the circular table, in silence like always. Eagle, a tall boy with dark hair fiddled with his triangle puzzle. Beast, a light skinned boy, with light blonde hair and simple silver glasses, sat eating a bag of chips. Thunder, a short boy, with short hair, watched as Eagle solved his puzzle. Ghost, a blue eyed girl with blonde hair, sat back, picking at her nails. And Arrow, a boy with tan skin and wavy hair looked from the ceiling, to the floor, to the ceiling. All aged between seventeen and nineteen years, and all part of a world they didn't understand. They all knew they were being watched, because they'd been at the lab for years. They weren't talking, because they'd run out of things to talk about. Every day it was the same thing. Wake up, each in separate rooms, go to separate testing labs, get injected with a serum the scientists said would change the world, bathe, change into new white clothes, eat, and then meet up in the observation room, where'd they'd spend the next three hours. It had been this way for what they could only guess was a year, there was no way to keep time. And no one remembered anything aside from their time in the lab. In the world they lived, they had no families, or friends, or favorites. They had the white labs, the white scientists, the white rooms, and clothes, and food, but they also had each other. They had been in the room about an hour, before Thunder spoke up. Asking how everyone slept.

Beast let out an exasperated sigh and responded with an irritable tone, his accent "you ask that every day".

Thunder sat back, and replied with "well, it's better than sitting here in silence"

Eagle smirked "and what's so wrong with silence"

Arrow spoke up "we're constantly around it. We sleep in silence, eat in silence, we do everything in silence"

"Exactly" Thunder agreed

Beast scooted his chair closer to the table. "Well than, what should we talk about, oh wait, I know, let's talk about how Thunder sucks dick"

All but Thunder grinned.

Arrow looked around "we've talked about everything"

"Yeah, everything but....." Beast trailed off, as everyone knew what he was talking about.

"Don't, you know what happened last time. I'm not going back there." Ghost said sternly.

Eagle nodded in agreement. "They said no more questions"

Beast "them and their stupid rules" he approached the observation glass, and raised his voice "you hear us, we're talking about your stupid rules, what are ya gonna do"

"Beast, shut up" Arrow warned

"They're not gonna do anything" he spat

Thunder stood up "dude, just sit down"

"Yeah, them and their stupid rules "Beast returned to his seat, and silence took control once again, but it didn't last long. "You can't tell me that you don't wonder what they're giving us"

"We can't afford to wonder, we just have to trust that they're doing the right thing" Arrow muttered.

"I don't trust um, not after all there stupid "test". More like torture" Ghost rolled her eyes.

"Don't let them hear you say that " Thunder joined the conversation.

"Well it's true" Ghost replied.

"I agree" Eagle emerged from the quiet," what type of results would require the type of testing they do, "we're gonna cut into you and see how bad you bleed, for thirty hours, we hope you don't die "he mocked.

"And that's not even the worst they've done." Ghost crossed her arms.

Thunder grabbed the triangle puzzle and began fiddling with it. "How long until you think they're gonna keep us here." He asked no one in particular.

"Until they get results I guess." Arrow stretched.

"But what results "Beast kicked his legs onto the Table. "I mean the least they could do is tell us what their goal is"

"No questions, no snooping, no freedom" Thunder made a list

"Yup" Ghost said "welcome to paradise"

"Be better if we could at least remember" Arrow sighed.

"They said our memories are dangerous, that's why they removed them" Thunder replied.

"That's okay, my family was probably assholes anyway" Beast said.

"We don't even know why we were chosen though, I mean, why are we so special" Arrow turned toward the door as it opened. Six people walked in. Five tall muscular guards with guns and white padded clothes walked in a line, behind them, a well dress man in a white suit.

They knew him as Mr. Hyde, and they all shared the same disgust for him.

"That's enough for today, you were all fairly warned, now, you will be punished" Mr. Hyde straightened his tie, his confidence radiated from his voice and he beamed power. By now the children were standing, frightened and angry

"Now, Arrow, you will be leaving first, please step out with me and my associate" he gestured to the closest guard. The boy stood for a second, and looked around. Eagle looked down at the floor, Beast had his arms crossed in rebellion, Ghost stood strait, and fearless despite her terror, and Thunder offered him an apologetic look. "Come on" Mr. Hyde said impatiently "don't have all day". Arrow began walking toward the door, each step bringing him closer to the devil.

He was led out into the white hallway where the guard followed behind him. Arrow bit his lip in anticipation; Mr. Hyde waved his arm toward down the hallway. "You should enter door 16." With that, he turned and returned to the observation room. The guard remained, and towered over him, he held his gun close. He tentatively made his way down the empty hallway until he found door sixteen. Had he known he had a chance, he would have run. But the facility he and the others called "The Compound" was inescapable. The building had constant security. Cameras watched everything, the doors all had locks, whether it be retina scanners, key cards, or fingerprints, everything required access. Arrow swallowed the bit of saliva that had gathered in his mouth, and waited for the guard to open the door. He swiped his keycard, and rudely shoved the boy in, before closing and locking the heavy door, trapping Arrow inside.
