Stay Out

Stay Out

A rainy afternoon

Rain in the sky

Rain from your eyes

It falls, ever so steady

Falling towards demise

So are we, we’re falling

Falling apart, crashing

Burning.  Hurtful words

are shot like daggers

Digging beneath skin

A yell, a shout

And you kick me out

“I’m sorry,” I said,

But you didn’t listen,

Instead, you said:

“Stay out,”

“Never come back,”

“Stay out,”

“Let’s leave it at that.”

The door closes

A rainy afternoon

Rain in the sky

Rain from my eyes

It falls, ever so steady

Like us towards our demise

A rainy afternoon,

Separated by a door

I whisper my goodbye

To the wind, the rain

A bitter, sad farewell
