Chapter 29

Rose Weasley

It was a few days after we had found Maisie near the edge of a bridge and thankfully she was ok. She was recovering in St Mungos. However, sadly her parents were found dead a couple of days ago and Maisie was devastated. She didn't know what to do.

I was sat in my bedroom reading a book, (I feel like I need a hobby) when the family owl Scorpion flew into my bedroom window. There was something seriously wrong with that owl. I grabbed the letter from it's beak and opened the letter. It read:

Dear Rose,

I've just had a letter from Scorpius telling me about Maisie. When you next see her tell her that if she needs to talk, she can come and find me. I know I'm probably the last person she might want to see but I've been through what she's been through.

Jamie

I wasn't surprised by the letter. It was nice that Scorpius would think of this idea. We all knew the history between Jamie and Masie, but it was kind of him to offer her his support. I pulled out a roll of parchment and wrote a note to Maisie. I attached Jamie's letter and sent the owl off with the envelope. I hope it reached her quickly.

I then decided to write my own letter to Scorpius:

Dear Scorpius,

I thought I'd write to you to see how you are. I've sent a small note to Maisie and attached the letter I received from Jamie. I thought it was nice of him to write. Good thinking from you.

I'm also writing to you for a different reason. I hate being stuck in the friend zone with you. I want to be with you. It's driving me crazy not being able to know that we're together. I love you so much.

I know things have been pretty rough these last few months but I believe that we are strong and nothing can break us.

Wish you mum well from me when she arrives home

I grabbed the family owl and sent the letter off. I was pretty nervous writing those last few sentences. However, I knew I was writing the truth. I wanted him to be able to kiss me in public and wrap his arms around me than wave at me and smile politely like he was a classmate. There was no other words to describe my feelings for him.

I loved him.

"Rose!" Hugo yelled from downstairs.

"What?!" I yelled back. Everyone was constantly shouting in our house.

"Come and have a look at this!"

I sighed and got off my bed and went downstairs. If Hugo was wasting my time I'm gonna kill him.

"Look. The Auror department have just released this." He threw the newspaper in front of me:

It has become apparent that the bodies of a man and a woman found on the outskirts of a forest not far from where they vanished have no injuries on their body.

A post-mortem examination confirms that Vincent and Michelle Greensdale did not suffer any life threatening or minor injuries  when they vanished.

A statement from Mr Ronald Weasley confirms that the Auror Department are not 'ruling out murder in this investigation':

'We still strongly believe that Mr and Mrs Greensdale were murdered. After discovering no injuries on their bodies it is a possibility that one of the three unforgivable curses was used on them. We shall continue to investigate as much as we can.'

"Oh my god." I sighed staring at the newspaper.

"I know. Dad seriously needs to get a haircut." Hugo pointed out.

I whacked him with the newspaper and Hugo being the drama queen that he is fell on the floor like I had punched him. I thought Uncle Harry would've given a statement not Dad. Maybe it was because I'm Maisie's friend and Dad felt it would be more appropriate.

"Mum! Rosie whacked me with the newspaper!" Hugo shouted through the kitchen door.

"I bet she didn't mean to do it." Mum said a lot more calmly.

"Is it true that the killing curse might've been used?" I asked.

"Rose you know not to say that-"

"Mum!"

"Yes although your father isn't ruling anything else out." Mum sighed.

"Why would someone use that on them?" I asked.

"I don't know sweetheart. Let's just hope that they catch whoever did this quickly. We don't know what could happen next." Mum gave us a small smile and walked back out into the kitchen. "And Hugo stop acting like a drama queen."

"The abuse I get in this family is unreal." Hugo rolled his eyes.

I stared at the newspaper. Whatever was going to happen next was certainly unpredictable. I didn't like living in fear it was just like before Rachel, Marcus and Reece were arrested and put in Azkaban. There hadn't been much news on them lately. Normally, they were featured in the Daily Prophet in every edition. I had a bad feeling that something might happen.

If the newspaper was silent then they were up to something. Surely nothing bad could happen.

As I made my way out into the fresh sunshine, a smile wide across my face, I had a feeling in my stomach that there was something that the Ministry were hiding. Then again, they've always hidden something.

We just had to find out what.

Mum and Dad decided to head over to Aunt Ginny's and Uncle Harry's. Neither me or Hugo really could be bothered to go but we were dragged along anyway. We sat and talked with James, Albus and Lily.

"How's Maisie?" Lily asked.

"She's alright. She's still struggling a bit but she's doing better." I smiled.

"Will she be alright to go back to Hogwarts?" James said.

"Yeah probably. Although I heard from Dad that there will be extra security at Hogwarts. Can't really blame the Auror department though can we." Albus shrugged.

"Do you still want to become an Auror James?" I asked him.

"Yeah definitely. I guess it shows that I want to help the Wizarding World." James smiled.

"Don't mess up on apparating like last time." Lily laughed.

"Thanks Lil." James blushed.

"What happened?" Hugo asked.

"James got told to apparate to just outside Diagon Alley but instead ended up on the Hogwarts grounds." Albus laughed.

"Is that even possible?" I asked bewildered.

"Turns out pronunciation is very important." James said with a flush of red on his face.

"Dad told us that he pronounced Diagon Alley wrong once and he ended up in Knockturn Alley in his second year." Lily said.

"Another reason why Dad didn't end up in Ravenclaw." James grinned.

We were a pretty crazy family. There was always something to laugh about.

I'm sorry its taken me so long to update. I've been really busy with school and there's only 2 months till my GCSE'S. I've got some really exciting new stories lined up so keep an eye out.

I can't believe that this story has over 12,000 reads! My last update was nearly at 10,000 and this story has grown so much!

This story is not quite done yet. There's still a few twists and turns to come...
