"Yo, Delilah." Pacey said walking up to me as I sat in my Jeep.

"Hey, Pace. What's up?" I said as I looked over at him, I was waiting for Jen to give her a ride home.

"Just wondering why you wouldn't tell me what today is." He smirked as he leaned his arms on the opened window.

I rolled my eyes with a smile, "It's low on my radar." I said glancing over at him.

"Your birthday should be the only thing on your radar, today. I have something for you." He smirked and I chuckled.

"You didn't have to, really." I assured him.

"Don't worry, this is a necessary gift." He said before he quickly pulled a new dark backpack up and handed it to me through the window.

"Pacey." I smiled widely, because he knew I needed a backpack.

"It might have something inside the front pocket, but look at it when you get home, alright?" He said and I nodded before smiling over at him.

"Thank you, Pacey." I spoke sincerely and he slightly nodded.

"So, uh, how's Jack? I figure after that whole thing in English he won't be back for a few days." He said as he cleared his throat.

"Wait, wait. I know he had some confusing poem, but did something else happen with him in class?" I asked worriedly because jack wouldn't tell me squat.

"Uh, he just got a little emotional and-and Mr. Wilson wouldn't let him stop until he finished. Jack left class and I, uh, I got mad at Mr. Wilson for doing that to a student-- for making him leave in tears." He explained and I sat there in shock, since this was the first time I've heard of this.

"I am actually suspended for a few days because I spit in Mr. Wilson's face.." He chuckled nervously.

"Hey!" Jen said hopping in the passenger seat.

I jumped as I looked over at her, "Jen, hi." I said clearing my throat.

"Hey Pacey, we've gotta jet. See you tomorrow!" Jen spoke quickly, in a rush to get out of school for the day.

I looked to see Pacey slowly backing away, I sighed before I turned on the car.

I slightly waved before pulling out of the parking lot.

I waved at Jen as she walked over to her Grams car, she decided to come hang out for awhile after school instead of going home.

She gave me some terrifying advice on how to go about this whole situation with Jack: talk to him.

I heard someone walking up to the old warehouse where I called home as I sat on the porch, "Hey stranger." I smiled at Jack who slowly walked over towards me.

"Hey." He gave me one of those sweet Jack-McPhee smiles.

He greeted me with a small kiss, we broke apart and he looked what seemed like disappointment.
