"Namjoon is right," Jade said somberly from next to him. They stood together in the doorway, hands tightly interwoven together as they looked at the two sitting on the edge of the roof.

"It's not that simple. It's time we explained everything to you. Everything about the night we met, and what we learned afterwards."

"We tell the story like it was magical," Jade began, tightening her grip on Namjoon's hand. "And in a way, it was. In a way, it was the most beautiful moment in life. But it was also fucking terrifying. At least, it was on my end." She glanced up at Namjoon and for a moment it seemed that they were communicating through their eyes, emotions playing so quickly that no one else would ever be able to pick up on them.

"I didn't have any ideas as to what was happening. No one had ever told me that the bond existed; as far as I know we're the only ones who even call it bonding."

"He ran into me at the diner I was working in at the time. Before I could even grasp what was happening, he was leading me to my own car."

"Neither of us had a clear head. We didn't know what was going on. All we knew was that whatever we were doing felt right, and so we kept going. It wasn't until the morning after when the buzzing evaporated from my head and she was stirring in the seat next to me that either of us realized what had happened."

"I woke up fluent in Korean, something I had spent the last two years trying to learn."

"And I woke up a slightly better cook and an even worse driver."

"The mark transmits skill sets between the mates. That doesn't mean that I can rap; it means I have the capacity to learn, something we learned very quickly when Mr. Genius over here tried to drive me home."

"And there's a kind of psychic link that develops. Not telepathy, but an empathy link sort of thing that makes us super sensitive to the other's emotions."

"We also can't be too far away from one another. It's not pretty when it happens. Trust us on that one."

"But what does that mean for us?" Taehyung asked a bit rudely.

"It means that we're just making sure that (y/n) understands what exactly she's going to get herself into if she agrees to this."

"Don't let him pressure you," Jade said directly to you, bypassing the extreme testosterone next to her and focusing upon the more important person in her mind: you.

"The bond also makes it impossible to be with anyone else, (y/n). That's one of the things that we conveniently left out. If you let him mark you," Namjoon sighed with a small shake of his head, "You'll never have another relationship again."

Jade and Namjoon reentered the practice room without (y/n) and Taehyung, whispering frantically to one another pertaining to Taehyung marking (y/n), Jungkook's heat, and general preparations for (y/n) becoming a mate.

Jungkook stood and walked slowly over to the two. "Namjoon? Jade? I think it's starting."

The words filled Namjoon and Jade with equal parts dread and frustration.

"All right. We need to move fast then," Jade said, dashing to the corner to grab the bags that Dinah had brought for this particular purpose.

"Everybody out," Namjoon ordered, leading Jungkook and Jade down the hallway to another, smaller practice room.
