Dear Me

Dear myself from tomorrow,

Hope life is treating you well,

Without letdown and sorrow,

Your journey's all but a shell,

In the past you're not to dwell.

***

How's it like to be much older?

Does it hurt your back to grow?

Carrying more weight on your shoulder,

Does it turn into a throe?

Or it makes your life aglow?

***

Do you look back in the mirror,

Knowing person who understood,

The past is no futile error,

Yet a long path to adulthood?

Was it hard or was it good?

***

Is it great to have a family?

Sons and daughters by your side,

Better half to hold you happily,

Someone with them you reside,

Or my fears are justified?

***

Now I'm not sure if you care.

I'm the past and you're the future.

You and I have a road to share.

We both complete one whole picture.

Give me hope before I fracture.
