Alan's POV

I came up the stairs from getting the mail this morning. It was a peaceful Saturday and I was hoping it was gonna stay that way. As I headed up the stairs noticing Austin coming down. I internally groaned, I was not in the mood to talk to him.

"Hey Alan, you're up early on a saturday." He commented.

"I'm up this early on the weekends every weekend." I muttered.

"Why?" He asked, moving to walk with me.

"Cause I need to be."

"Why?"

"Because I,I I do."

"But why?" He questioned, cocking his head.

"It's just how I function." I said clutching the mail.

"Oh, I see," he said.

"It's complicated."

"That's okay, I like complicated," he said with a small smile.

"Trust me, you don't want to."

"I don't care."

"Stop that." I said. He was being weirdly nice to me and I didn't know how to take it. On one hand I thought it was cute, but on the other it just made my life more complicated.

"What's wrong?"

"You're making things complicated."

"I told you, I like complicated," he said smoothly.

"Why?"

"Complicated makes it more fun."

"No it doesn't."

"Yes it does."

"How?" I asked, stopping at the apartment door.

Austin smiled and winked at me. "It just does."

My eyes went wide, "Uh..."

"Tell Vic whenever he gets back that I'm having a party tonight and I want both of you to be there."

"I don't party."

"Please?"

"No, that's not my thing. I'll tell Vic."

"You should come too. I'd really like you to."

"Thanks, but no thanks."

"Come on, it'll be like that date I offered you but not so formal."

I blushed, "I don't date."

"Why not?" He said, pushing his lip out.

"Uh..." I stumbled not knowing what to say to him. I didn't really have a valid excuse and I knew that no matter how many times I told myself I had an excuse. "I'm, I'm, I'm complicated."

"How many times do I have to tell you, Alan, I like complicated?"

"A lot more until I believe you." I said and swallowed hard walking back into the door.

"Well then, I'll just keep having to tell you."

I nodded, "Yeah, just tell me in increments of three."

Austin grinned. "I like complicated, I like complicated, I like complicated, so so so much."

I hated myself for letting myself be like this. Austin was really cute and nice. Maybe I needed to listen to Kellin's advice.

"I'll think, think, think about it," I finally said.

"Awesome, awesome, awesome." He said, "I'll see you tonight."
