James came in from school. He didn't do his homework. He didn't care anymore. He just slumped down on the couch and switched on the TV. His phone buzzed. His friend ali had texted
Are you okay
Not really no
What's wrong
James told her everything. He just couldn't keep it in. After he told her this, she couldn't believe it. She felt awful for him. She told him a secret of her own hoping it would make him feel better. It didn't, but acknowledging her efforts he thanked her. They kept talking for a while. James decided he wanted to go vegetarian, to honour Molly. His friend decided she'd do it too.
A few hours later he was texted again by ali, who was frantically apologising for eating chicken drumsticks. This made him feel a bit better.
