"Baby," you whisper while stroking her hairline, praying she would wake up at any moment. She hadn't moved a muscle since she had been admitted to the hospital.
Ashley was in the middle of performing a show when she passed out. None of the doctors or staff members could give you an exact reason why. Some say it might have been from the stress she was under, or from the heat of the lights. Everything had happened so fast and you didn't have a moment to think it all through.
You held your tears in not wanting to let them fall. You knew they were working her way to hard, but she just kept going with it, not giving no for an answer. There was no doubt in your mind that the media was going to turn this into more than it was. They would probably say she was on drugs or had some sort of mental issue, you had to be ready to defend her.
You starred at her pale face, her makeup from the show wearing off. If only i was at the show with her, maybe she wouldn't have felt so pressured, you thought to yourself. Tears threatened to fall once again, but you held it together, it was you who had to be the strong one.
A few minutes passed when a nurse walked in, a small smile on her face. "Are you a friend of Ms. Frangipane?" You only nodded your head, not in the mood to correct her for saying the two of you were friends.
"W-will she be okay..?" Your eyes were probably beat red, so you kept your head down towards and Ashley.
"Yes. She seemed to have blacked out from abnormal heart rhythms, which could be caused from feeling panicked or stressed..." she trailed off not completely finishing her statement.
You were about to respond when you felt something reach for your hand. You gasped to see that Ashley had put your hand in hers as her eyes began to flutter open.
"B-baby," your voice cracked at her actions. She only gave you a slight smile and squeezed your hand lightly.
"I'm okay.." she whispered. You nodded your head, wanting to burst into tears right then and there. The fact that she spoke words lifted a huge weight off of you.
You knew your love would be just fine in the end.
