Chapter 15

     "Jungkook" Joy called but he was still lost in his thoughts while looking at her. She snapped her fingers in front of him to bring him in the reality.

     He shakes his head and immediately drinks a cup of water.

     "I said my mom is here, she wants to meet you." She almost whispers but he still heard it clear. Jungkook choked hearing what she said and coughs so hard and nearly going to spray the water in his mouth but he gulped it down and continues coughing. His face became as red as a tomato.

      "I'm sorry did I shock you?" she said patting Jungkook on his back trying to help him stop coughing. Her hands are comforting and just feeling her hands on his back gives him chills down to his spine.

     "I'm okay now. I was just—" he mumbles in between his cough.

     "Maybe I'll tell her that you should meet next time." She said rushing to go out of the room.

     "No" he stopped her. "Where is she?" he asked.

     "Outside. She's waiting." She said a little uncomfortable because her mom just wants to meet this guy personally and this guy might get the wrong idea. She can just talk to him through phone but she goes all the way here just to meet him! I mean, my mom makes this situation more different. She truly adores him but she adores him too much— she wants him to be his son-in-law! This is crazy! I'm going crazy.

     "You really don't have to. I'll tell her to leave." She said walking out of the room so that he won't meet her. She keeps insisting to meet him when we met a while ago and it's completely my fault, the words of meeting him today slips in my tongue first before asking why she wants to meet me and now we're here.

     Jungkook told Minji to "Wait here." and followed Joy outside. Nothing is wrong in meeting her mom Jungkook. Don't give any other meaning to this.

     "Mom, he's busy—" she said when she reached the corner table where her mom is seating.

     "Hi Mrs.Park." Jungkook waved his hand to her mother. Hearing his voice from her back made her jaw drop and her palms finds its way to her face. He followed me.

     "Jungkook! Finally!" Mrs. Park said smiling in delight. Joy is glad enough that there are no other customers there. Thank God because my mom— ugh! Sorry Jungkook!

     "Hello" he bowed to her. Joy tilts her head and body slowly. "Where's Minji?! Did you left her in the room alone?!" she exclaimed to cause some panick to Jungkook to go back to the room but her way isn't successful. Minji still followed them even Jungkook told her not to. She came running to Jungkook and he carried her.

     Joy stopped and try to breath as normal as she can while closing her eyes.

     "Hi Minji." Mrs. Park stands up and comes to them. "I've heard so much about you from Joy. You're indeed very pretty in person." She approached and Minji smiled widely to her.

     "Minji come here." Joy opened her arms to carry Minji and Jungkook carefully gives her to Joy.

     "Aww, you look like a good couple." Ms. Park said admiring what she's witnessing.

     "Mom!" Joy frowned to her mother.

     "What? I just say that you 'look-like a couple'. I didn't say you 'really-are a couple'." She corrected.

      Joy looked at Jungkook's reaction but he was just staring at her. She can't read his mind. She's not good at it.

     "Jungkook, if ever my mom will say something weird or stupid please bare with her and just forget about it all after, please?" she reminded him before going further from them with Minji. She make sure that she'll keep her eyes from them while they're talking to refrain her mother from saying something unexpected to him.

     Unfortunately, she can't hear anything from where she's seating and the two looks like having a normal conversation. They actually look so close just after a few minutes they start talking. Seriously?! I'm so curious on what their conversation is about and I feel so left out here seating and playing pororo with Minji. She's observing them well.

     I can clearly see that he's enjoying talking to her with that exchange of smiles and laughter. Her urge to go seat with them and interrupt their conversation rose up when she saw her mom glance to her. Are they talking about me now? Kyah! I need to know! My mom maybe saying that she wants him to be his son-in-law now! Omo! She tightens her grip to the pororo toy she was holding and Minji is just looking at her, so worried that pororo might die in Joy's hand seeing that she's squeezing it and her nails are buried to its skin.

     "U-unnie" Minji cries because Joy is totally torturing pororo now.

     "Ah- mianhaeyo." Joy said realizing what she's doing. Her eyes moved immediately to her mother and Jungkook. I can't take this anymore. She stand up and let go's of pororo— Minji snatched it above the table and hugged it tightly. When Joy was already near them they both stand up and Joy stopped on walking.

      They're done?! She's late.

     "See you again Jungkook." Mrs. Park says her goodbye to Jungkook.

      "Nice meeting you again Mrs. Park." He bowed.

     "That's it?!" Joy shouted so frustrated on what just had happened. If I wasn't her daughter I'll believe it's not their first meeting. How the heck did that happen for less than 30 minutes just sharing a cup of Americano?!

     "Yeah, I'll go now." Mrs. Park answers.

     "Wait, what did you talk about?"

     "Leave it to us tsk." Mrs. Park smirked that only adds to her curiosity. Mrs. Park goes out of the restaurant and Joy followed her. Her car was parked just in the front of the restaurant.

     "Mom, just answer this one. Did you tell him about what you told me?"

     "What did I tell you?"

     "That you want him to be your son-in-law."

     "Of course not." Mrs Park answered and Joy's mind is finally at peace. She hugged her tightly and said "You brat. I was just so thankful to him. All mothers would do the same if they are in my shoe. But you—!" she let go of the hug "You over reacted! I was just joking when I said I want him to be my son-in-law. You act so defensive. Do you like him?"

     "No." She answered.

     "No or not yet?"

     "Mom!"

     "Alright! If you say so. But I really have to say, I was just kidding and for you to take it seriously is unexpected. I didn't know you can't take a joke now." Joy wasn't able to answer her because she kissed her on her forehead suddenly "You're still my baby girl okay?" and Joy nodded. Mrs. Park finally rode the car and Joy waved to her until the car is out of sight.

     Joy enters the restaurant and says "Let's go!"

     Jungkook and Minji both stand up and started to walk back to the Private restaurant.

     "Na-ah. Not there." Joy said and the two faced her. "Let's go party today! I reserved a room in my favourite karaoke bar!" She hyped. Minji holds Jungkook's hand and dragged him running to Joy so happy shouting "Let's go! Let's go!" reaching for Joys hand with her free hand. She places the back of their hands on both sides of her cheeks squeezed saying "I'm so excited!"

     Joy and Jungkook replied in unison while looking at her "Kaja!" they both looked at each other not expecting to blurt out the same words at the same time. They both just smiled it in and happily head out of the restaurant.
