The Selection

Chapter 17

Today is the day of the ball. My maids dresses me in a pink dress with some sparkles on it. They put my hair up in a bun with curls and a hair piece.

I turn and the mirror and look at myself. "You guys! I look so pretty!" I say and hug them. "You all always do a wonderful job with my dresses." I say and smile.

"Thank you Australia." They say in union. "There should be a guard coming soon to escort you down to the ballroom." They say and start cleaning up.

About a minute later there is a knock on the door. "Have fun Australia!" Alyssa says to me as I walk down out the door.

I stand there for a minute and look at the guard. It is Rosey's boyfriend. I awkwardly loop my arm with his and walk down the hallway.

After a few minutes of silence he talks. "Thank you." He says in a hush voice.

I look confused. "For what?" I ask.

"For keeping mine and Rosey's relationship a secret." He says to me.

"I would do anything for a friend. But if you hurt her I will hurt you worse." I say and give him a death glare.

He just chuckles and leads me to the double doors. "Have a nice time Lady Australia." He winks and walks away.

When I walk in it looks so pretty. There are light hanging and a big chandelier in hanging I the middle of the room.

I see Rosey and Cassidy and some other girls in the back corner talking. So I walk over to them.

"Hey! You all look stunning." I say and smile.

"You look pretty too." Cassidy and Rosey say to me and hug me.

"We are going to talk to other people in the Selection. You can come if you want." Rosey says.

"No I'm fine I'm going to stay over here." I says and they walk away. So I'm over here with the other girl that I don't know.

I extend my hand. "I'm Australia." I say with a genuine smile.

She shakes my hand back. "I am Isabella, but you can just call me Bella." She says with a smile.
